Not beaten far behind a well handicapped and strongly fancied Irish raider last time. Had been well supported on her two previous start. Tackles this trip for the first time with stamina doubts based on pedigree and her last run over a mile.
All three wins have come over C&D, the latest under today's rider off 4lb lower. Likely to need the run and the stable are without a winner since October.
Dual C&D winner who won from this mark at Kempton during the winter. Had little chance with a well handicapped winner last time and will give a good account of herself here.
Well treated on her efforts at Chelmsford and Chester last season before losing his way. Jockey 9-31 for yard and a 62 point profit. One to watch in the market.
Has made the frame in eight of her 11 starts without actually winning. Has wasted easier opportunities than this.
Without a win since August 2015. Two of her three victories have been with today's pilot on board as was her best effort of 2016.
C&D winner a year ago off a 1lb higher mark. Got up late to score at Kempton last time and has a chance to follow up if the race is run to suit.
Well handicapped with Becca Campbell on running here last August and improved later for the fitting of blinkers when scoring over C&D by 5L. In hindsight he had no chance at the weights last time when runner-up to a horse who has picked up two races since. Would have sound claims if the market suggests he is fit and ready for this.
Forecasts
Becca Campbell (7/2), Ms Gillard (5/1), Pernickety (6/1), Solveig's Song (6/1), Tommys Geal (13/2), Onehelluvatouch (7/1), Little Kipling (8/1), Weardiditallgorong (8/1)
A case can be made out for most of these. Becca Campbell and Solveig's Song are two C&D specialists, whilst another C&D winner Onehelluvatouch has claims based on the progress he showed towards the end of last season. Tommys Geal is unlikely to get the strong gallop she needs and it may pay to side with PERNICKETY. She was placed in two maidens at Chelmsford and Chester last summer which suggest she has been let in lightly. With the booking of the champion jockey interpreted as a sign of intent she warrants some interest.
- Pernickety
- Onehelluvatouch
- Solveig's Song
