Cost £70,000 as a yearling and showed promise in two maidens for Marcus Tregoning over 7f and 1m (both soft). Dropped in trip on reappearance for a new yard which is struggling for winners., having changed hands for £19,000.
Caught the eye under a hands and heels ride on her debut over 7f at Kempton and was duly sent off favourite over C&D next time, finishing second of 13. Gelded over the winter and yard has started well. Interesting down in trip.

Promise shown but has burnt a few fingers along the way, notably when turned over at odds of 4/11 over 6f at Brighton in August. Gelded since but no immediate signs of improvement on his return at Chelmsford. Spencer in the saddle is interesting though.

Has improved with each run to date in 6f at maidens at Wolverhampton, just getting touched off by Derek Duval last month. Should again be competitive in this company if handling the switch to turf.

Dropped away tamely when unfancied for her debut at Lingfield last summer but glimmers of improvement at Ffos Las (6f, good to soft) next time. Still hard to get excited about on her return.

Unfancied and ultimately well beaten in a maiden won by Graphite Storm on her debut over 6f at Windsor last summer but plugged to finish fifth of 15. Open to improvement but yard is quiet ahead of her return.

Cost €160,000 and was fancied for her debut over 7f at Kempton last month only to be touched off. Only ran to a similar level of form when fourth over that C&D next time and interesting if this trip drop sparks improvement.

Forecasts

Esprit De Corps (7/4), Global Alexander (11/4), Trotter (4/1), Three C's (13/2), Sumou (8/1), Five Star Frank (10/1), Delahay (20/1), Mister Chow (25/1), Morning Sequel (25/1), Amberine (33/1)

Verdict

Roger Charlton is always to be feared at this track and the fact that he has his string in good order points favourably to the chances of his only runner on today's card, ESPRIT DE CORPS, who has shaped as though this stiff extended 5f could be ideal. Expensive purchase Global Alexander is another who may appreciate this trip drop and is most respected alongside the improving Trotter.
