Won with a lot in hand on Saturday and represents a yard in form. Looked well handicapped that day and will take some beating off the same mark here. Appeared to handle this surface on sole visit last season.
Ascot winner last season whose official rating has been plummeting as she continues to disappoint. Tackles 7f for the first time and pedigree would put the trip in range. More than capable of landing this on her best form.
Windsor winner runs to a consistent level but it is one which puts him below a few of these.
€50,000 buy as a two-year-old. Related to a couple of AW winners who were best at around 7f-1m. Best performance came here last month and proved far less effective on tapeta next time. Not without a chance if reproducing that earlier effort.
Purchased for £32,000 at Goffs London Sale last year and a half-brother to useful sprinter Wildcat Wizard. Set a muddling pace to score at Lingfield last time and that form has been franked since. Entitled to prove more effective over this shorter trip given his pedigree.
Improved for the fitting of a hood at Newbury last season. Less effective in better company last time but starts this season at a much more modest level.
Cost $285,000 as a yearling. Needs to prove latest effort was all wrong having tried to make all in blinkers. Had shown a tendency to hang under pressure in previous starts. Worrying to see him drop to this level with cheekpieces now fitted. Looks far from straightforward.
Forecasts
Glorious Artist (11/8), El Torito (9/2), Trenchard (6/1), On To Victory (6/1), Island Brave (8/1), Camargue (9/1), Hisar (66/1)
Camargue and Trenchard would have claims if they could be relied upon to reproduce one of their better efforts. On To Victory produced a good run at Newbury last season and would make plenty of appeal if there was a market move for him. Island Brave landed a maiden at Lingfield in a slow time and that makes the value of the form debatable. The switch to 7f looks right based on pedigree but the most reliable option in this has to be GLORIOUS ARTIST. Charles Hills' runners are going well at the moment and the topweight had plenty left when beating two previous winners at Wolverhampton on Saturday.
- Glorious Artist
- Camargue
- Island Brave
