Kept on well to land a Gowran Park 7f maiden for Joseph O'Brien beating a useful Baldoyle horse in the process. May have needed the run after a break last time. Extra furlong today but bred to stay and solid claims on that winning form.

Improved across all three runs in AW maidens and makes his handicap debut. Form of his latest effort took a knock when the winner finished last a few days ago.

Failed to progress from a promising Newbury debut and has been gelded during the winter. Handicapper has taken few chances but yard are going well and rarely leave this fixture empty handed..

Had shown little until first time blinkers saw him land a Bath nursery on easy ground. Reverted to previous modest levels next time and hard to know what to expect here.

Winner in first time cheekpieces and third of five under same young rider next time when hanging left under pressure. Gets stronger handling here and fitness advantage is a plus.

Made all to win a minor race at Chelmsford. Had run well on turf on previous start when well supported. Begins handicap career on an attractive mark.

Winner of two of her last three races in lower grade contests. Scraped home last time and now 5lb higher with a hood fitted for the first time.

Promising third at Chester on debut in a race which has thrown up a couple of winners. Would be well handicapped on that form but perhaps better judged on her next effort in a weak Leicester maiden. That suggests she may be a shade too high in the weights. Has failed to adapt to the AW this winter.

Has left an impression that handicapping would bring significant improvement. Jockey booking takes the eye and certainly one to note in the market.

Signs of a ability in a couple of races but less so in her last two starts. Trip was evidently too far last time and tongue-tie is now removed.

Best effort came in a Leicester nursery when noted staying on well over 7f. Soon beaten on the AW next time but has an outside chance on that previous showing.

Supported for handicap debut in August when she was eased once beaten. Off the track until given a sharpener on the AW last time. Hard to recommend on form but potentially better than we have seen.

Earned a mark of 77 following victory on the AW last year. That win followed some good turf efforts in the early part of the season. Went downhill and has dropped to a mark of 57 here. Has been given a break since a poor show in December and this might be as good a time as any to catch him.

Forecasts

Fields Of Fortune (15/8), Know Your Limit (4/1), Delfie Lane (8/1), Glenys The Menace (8/1), Masterofdiscovery (17/2), Claire's Secret (12/1), Moonstone Rock (16/1), Justice Frederick (18/1), Every Nice Girl (25/1), Latest Quest (28/1), Unzipped (33/1), Jasmincita (50/1), Intisha (66/1)

Verdict

A few of these could be better than their latest efforts suggest. Every Nice Girl has made no show in her three starts to date but ought to be a different proposition now handicapping. She would be worth a market check as would Latest Quest. His best run came first time out last season and a similar showing here would make him hard to beat. Fields Of Fortune is another who failed to build on a promising debut and he has now been gelded. His stable and jockey are going well at present. Justice Frederick has claims on his Irish form and will be better for a recent run. For the selection DELFIE LANE has to be the pick given his proven wellbeing. A tendency to hang makes him a difficult ride and one which suggests the undulations at Lingfield, where he was beaten last time, may not suit him. He will get stronger handling here on a fairer track and that makes him a worthy selection.
  1. Delfie Lane
  2. Justice Frederick
  3. Fields Of Fortune
