Poor form under both codes of racing and needs to improve out of all recognition if he is going to have a say in proceedings here.

Modest breeding and was of little interest when he went through the sales ring. Yard also quite in maidens, so probably best left alone just for now.

No better than mid-division when he made his debut over 7f at this track last November. He is related to plenty of winners though and may appreciate the firmer ground. Has also been gelded during his break, so the market is likely to be the best gauge of any expectations held for this seasonal debut.

Ran with plenty of promise in a maiden auction at York last October. Made good headway near the finish on that occasion; creating the impression that he will be suited by this step up in trip. One for the shortlist.

A half-brother to plenty of winners, who were effective between 6f and 1m. Made a very pleasing start to his career when second of six in a Lingfield maiden last July but was put away afterwards and has been given plenty of time to develop. The winner of that race went on to be rated 86 by the end of last season, so effectively matches the standard required in this company.

Holds what looks like a very speculative entry in the Irish 2,000 Guineas but has already been allotted a mark of 85, so this looks more his level. No better than mid division when last seen out in the Zetland Stakes but this is much easier, so has to be considered as a live candidate.

Cost 18,000 gns and is a half-brother to a handful of useful types. Needs to step things up considerably from his debut effort to figure in this stronger looking company though.

Cost €8,000 and is a half-sister to a couple of horses that have made an impact in the Jumping game. Stiff test for her racecourse debut but interesting to see how she fares nevertheless.

Forecasts

Redicean (5/4), Lord Commander (2/1), Migyaas (7/2), Sunrize (8/1), Bing Bang Bank (14/1), Testbourne (20/1), Silk Trader (66/1), Jacques (100/1), Ibreeq (150/1)

Verdict

A few of these are certain to use this as a springboard to better things and notes should be taken on the likes of Lord Commander, Sunrize and Bing Bang Bank. However, Redicean and MIGYAAS look to be the most interesting pair to concentrate upon, with the latter just holding the edge as he has a touch more scope for improvement. Both can find a race before too long though; and should be capable of making good strides after getting a seasonal run behind them.
  1. Migyaas
  2. Redicean
  3. Lord Commander
