Won a maiden open point-to-point in February making all and holding on well by a length at Alnwick. Well beaten on his latest start and makes his first start under Rules here.

Poor form over fences when running under Rules before but has won five times from 12 starts in point-to-points although has been fairly lightly raced in the past couple of years. Well beaten on his last start in point-to-points but had won his two starts in the same sphere prior to that.

Four times a winner in point-to-points but finished last of five finishers on his latest outing. Well beaten seventh in this race last year.

Did win a point-to-point in Ireland prior to his one run under Rules in a maiden hurdle (finished well beaten). Has showed improved form of late for this trainer winning and finishing second in point-to-points and looks to have a leading chance here in his first start over fences under Rules.

Modest form in Hunter Chases and offered little in one last time out at Musselburgh. Did win his last point-to-point outing but that form still looks as though he'll struggle to make an impression here.
Comes from a professional yard so that certainly makes him of interest and did win a maiden point-to-point last time out. That form leaves him something to do here but has to be respected from this yard.

20/1
Finished third in this race last year and has won multiple point-to-points but ran very poorly in this sphere last time out and likely to come up short again.
Has won a couple of times in point-to-points the latest win coming nearly two years ago and very lightly raced since. Stablemate Senor Alco probably has a better chance.

Took eleven attempts to get off the mark in point-to-points and there are more letters than numbers in the form figures.

Nelly La Ruep12
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-7| J: Miss C R Crane(7)| T: V Thompson| OR:  67
100/1
The outsider of the trio that her trainer runs in this and it's easy to see why as she's was well beaten on her last start and having a point-to-point record of 1/25.

Forecasts

Five Piers (5/2), Hey Listen (7/2), Bafana Choice (6/1), Havana Jack (13/2), Fight Away Boys (7/1), Active In Milan (9/1), Sounds Of Italy (18/1), Senor Alco (20/1), Time For Vino (33/1), Nelly La Rue (100/1)

Verdict

Not the most appealing contest in betting terms with very little Rules form to go on. FIVE PIERS looks the most interesting based on his point-to-point form with Hey Listen worthy of respect given the yard that he comes from. Others that can be given a chance are Active In Milan and Bafana Choice on their point-to-point form.
  1. Five Piers
  2. Hey Listen
  3. Active In Milan
