Consistent sort who looks versatile ground wise. Career best came with a win at the Galway Festival and produced some good efforts in defeat in the remainder of the season. Yard's runners always respected at this time of year, particularly with this jockey booked.

Ex-Mark Johnson inmate who made no impression on yard debut at Dundalk last time. Should come on for that run and step up in trip is an interesting move so very much respected in first-time cheekpieces.

Looks on a very fair mark considering he won off a mark of 93 here a couple of seasons ago and has been running consistently well since. Excellent second last time at Naas and should go well again.

Developed a habit of missing the break on his last three starts but showed how effective he can be the time before at the Curragh when he does break well. This jockey rode him to victory that day and he has a previous win at this track so plenty to like about his chances.

Good strike-rate of four wins from 11 starts for this yard and won off a lenient mark at the Galway Festival last year. All his other wins have come on the AW at Dundalk and he may not enjoy this soft ground so probably best watched this time around.

Value for more than the winning margin suggests on second start at Dundalk last time but handicapper would appear to agree. Should progress again but this mark is no gimme.

Proven in soft ground and now 1lb below his last winning mark but may struggle from the widest draw.

Unplaced on her last six starts and likes to dominate from the front, something she may struggle with in this contest from a wide draw. Market should reveal expectations on return from a while off the track.

C&D winner in October and yard in good form but tends to struggle off marks in the 80's and probably up against it despite the trainer having a good record at this course.

Missed the break but kept on well at the Curragh to finish second when last seen. Will need a strong pace to run at from this wide draw and trainer's runners often need their reappearance but proven on this sort of ground over a mile.

Looking well-handicapped on his form of 2015 but with good reason having finished unplaced on his last nine starts. First-time tongue-tie now reached for and clearly not the easiest to train, often having significant absences between runs.

Has made steady progress so far in his career and finished an eye-catching fourth over C&D last time. Dropped 3lb for that and has claims if ready to go after an absence.

Adieux134
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-4| J: Wayne Lordan| T: P Martin| OR:  73

Didn't need to improve to win a Dundalk maiden last time but placed on all of her four starts including a C&D maiden. Possible she will do better this year and market can guide on how she may go on return.

Forecasts

Katiymann (3/1), Tony The Gent (11/2), Aussie Valentine (6/1), De Coronado (6/1), Fountain (13/2), Canary Row (9/1), Adieux (10/1), Spruce Meadows (12/1), Turbine (16/1), Castle Guest (16/1), Beau Satchel (20/1), Lean And Keen (33/1), Misty Millie (50/1)

Verdict

AUSSIE VALENTINE won off a higher mark than this a couple of years ago and has been running well in defeat since, he may be able to get his head back in front if he can build on his runner-up effort at Naas last time. Fountain was impressive over C&D last time and he's been given some relief by the handicapper so has to be of interest. Adieux always seems to run a nice race and should remain competitive with a feather weight and at the other end of the scale, Tony The Giant is worthy of his top-weight and should go well from a nice draw for a trainer who does well at this time of year. Castle Guest would have a good chance if he gets a clean break and is another who shouldn't be underestimated.
  1. Aussie Valentine
  2. Fountain
  3. Adieux
