Has looked suited by this surface and has a C&D win to his name off a 2lb lower mark on his penultimate start. Not in quite the same form here over a furlong further last time out (not settle and ran wide) and might be better suited by a return to front-running tactics.
Turf winner when with her former yard on a couple of occasions but very much shaped as though she would need the run when returning for her new yard at Newcastle. Makes her first start on a new surface which her sire has a below average record on.
Did get back to form last year off what was a steadily declining mark but largely below form for the rest of the year. Run once here before and didn't impress and often slowly away.
Just the one win from 24 attempts but has turned in some placed efforts of late on the AW which make him of interest. This is his first run on the surface though and his overall record and that fact would temper enthusiasm.
Course regular who certainly knows his way around here and has registered 8 course wins (3 over C&D). Can look a hard ride (runs in snatches) and interesting to see the cheekpieces return in favour of the visor that he wore for his last win.
Turned in a career best effort last time out when winning at Wolverhampton over an extended 1m1f trip to gain her first win. Makes her first start on this surface facing a longer trip and may need to improve again.
Showed his best recent form when second here in December but he hasn't shown anything approaching that in three starts since including over 7f here last time.
Forecasts
Storm King (2/1), Star Of Lombardy (5/2), The Lock Master (11/2), Glenalmond (8/1), Indian Chief (8/1), Balducci (14/1), Perceived (28/1)
A few in here with Fibresand form and that might just be the group to concentrate on. They are headed by the course regular The Lock Master although that one generally does better in a visor and it may well be better to rely on STORM KING here. He’s still off a mark that he can win off and could gain a soft lead. Perceived and Star Of Lombardy will be sure to get involved if they take to the surface as could the consistent but hard to win with Glenalmond.
- Storm King
- Star Of Lombardy
- The Lock Master
