Winner of his final two starts as a two-year-old including in a handicap event of 1m here in September. The form of that race has been boosted since and he looks likely to run well upped in trip here.
Winner of a 7f maiden race here in July and subsequently finished a ¾L second in a three runner conditions race at Ripon the following month. Bred to stay this far and an interesting contender.
Only success at two came in a three runner AW maiden at Newcastle in August. Held in three outings subsequently including in a Group 3 contest in Italy in November and may find a few too good here.
Justified favouritism when making his debut in a 6f event at Windsor in June. Disappointed upped to 7f for a Group 2 contest the following month and hasn't been seen since. Takes a marked step up in trip here.
Off the mark at the fifth attempt when wearing first time cheekpieces (retained here) for a 1m1f Goodwood maiden in September. Makes his handicap debut in this.
Winner of his second outing as a two-year-old when last seen in action in a maiden event over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton in November. Interesting on handicap debut.
Winner of her last two outings on the AW, both at Wolverhampton. Most recent success came off a 7lb lower mark in a handicap over an extended 1m1f last month and she is an interesting contender here.
Unraced as a two-year-old and worn blinkers for both starts so far. Justified odds-on favouritism when winning at Wolverhampton over an extended 1m1f in February. Makes his handicap debut here.
Awarded the race in the stewards room when successful at Newcastle on the AW over 7f in August. He race prominently on that occasion and it's interesting to see how he fares on his turf debut.
off the mark at the sixth attempt in a 1m maiden event at Southwell in February. Beaten off an 11lb lower mark on sole handicap start at two and may find this tough.
Forecasts
Khalidi (7/2), Bin Battuta (4/1), First Nation (11/2), Native Prospect (7/1), Mushaireb (7/1), Western Duke (9/1), Celestial Spheres (11/1), Devil's Bridge (14/1), Bush House (20/1), Flood Warning (22/1)
KHALIDI can defy top weight by taking this 1m2f handicap here for trainer John Gosden. The selection raced handily for both of his victories last season including when making virtually all the running for the first of those victories and he looks likely to stay the extra 2f here. Bush House was successful over slightly shorter than today's trip when breaking his maiden at Wolverhampton in February and can claim second while the filly Flood Warning his seeking a hat-trick following two victories at Wolverhampton, the most recent coming less than three weeks ago.
- Khalidi
- Bush House
- Flood Warning
