Showed little on racecourse debut at Naas last week when never getting involved in the race having been sent off at a big price. Unlikely to be good enough to win this on that evidence.
0/5 so far and hasn't been especially impressive in any of her starts so far. Perhaps she'll be better returned to the turf from the all-weather, though, and the experience will help her.
Thoroughly unimpressive on racecourse debut at Leopardstown in June and a big step forward will be needed following that long absence. Tries what will likely be a testing surface for the first time.
Cost €45,000 as a foal and has enough speed in his pedigree to suggest he could be effective over this trip, but it's a big ask first time out and he's probably best watched on debut.
Well held on two starts so far and would have it all to do on that evidence, not to mention overcoming an absence since October.
Ran well in two appearances towards the end of last season, firstly when narrowly beaten on debut at Tipperary, before taking a step forward to run a good fourth to Churchill in the National Stakes. Looks like he handles testing ground and clearly has plenty of ability. Leading contender.
Cost €90,000 as a yearling, by Sharmadal out of a half-sister to Wootton Bassett. Interesting pedigree but her trained isn't renowned for first time out winners, so perhaps best watched here.
Unappealing pedigree for a maiden of this nature and would have to be a fair bit better than she looks on paper in order to win here at the first time of asking.
Pivotal filly making her first racecourse appearance here. Pedigree seems to suggest that she will want a mile in time, but this is a good starting point and she is probably the most interesting newcomer on paper.
Ran some fair races in four appearances in Meydan during the Dubai season. Difficult to tell how that form will transfer to Ireland, but the racecourse experience will be a big bonus for her.
Forecasts
Son Of Rest (4/11), Souls In The Wind (7/1), Catamaran (8/1), Knowing You (9/1), Shinko Princess (12/1), Killala (25/1), Honour And Glory (25/1), Florida Times (33/1), Poetical Dreamer (50/1), Cantsayrightly (66/1)
It may pay to side with experience in this maiden, and SON OF REST looks the best option. He was mildly disappointing when beaten at odds-on on his racecourse debut, but he put that behind him with a fine fourth in the National Stakes won by leading Classics hopeful Churchill. He can finally get off the mark here, but if not quite managing it again the similarly experienced Souls In The Winds could be next best after time spent in Dubai for her first four appearances. Of the newcomers, Knowing You makes just about the most appeal.
