Possibly not the most trustworthy (beaten at 4/6 in a similar contest at Fakenham two weeks ago) but is a C&D winner that has his conditions again and is well enough weighted to suggest he can go well if bouncing back from that mediocre effort last time. Yard going well so must be on the shortlist.

Finished runner-up for the 12th time in his career (from 38 starts) when second to Dark And Dangerous at Sedgefield on his latest start, getting outbattled after the last. Conditions look fine again here but that temperament is now under suspicion once more.

No win in 19 starts but didn't do too badly when last seen, finishing third in better class than this at Doncaster (tried to make all). Absence since is a concern, and means he's probably best watched unless there's strong market support (yard can land a gamble).

Yet to win in 15 attempts, but has been placed on both runs at Stratford, and he's not been beaten far on either of his last couple of runs. Handicapper relenting a bit too and taking a big step down in grade here, has to be one of the leading players.

His inconsistency has come to the fore again lately, winning a moderate event at Towcester in February but not repeating that form in three runs since, finishing a well beaten last on his latest outing (never went with any fluency). Ability is there, but very risky.

Looked to have a decent future ahead of her when winning a novice hurdle at Exeter last November, but it's all unravelled since then and she finished a tailed-off last of four at Fontwell two weeks ago. Dropped in grade but looks to be regressing quickly at present.

Already regressing badly after just nine starts and although her best effort came at Huntingdon last time when finishing fifth, that's not saying a lot. Too much on her plate here.

Forecasts

Deebaj (11/8), Astrum (3/1), Sailors Warn (3/1), Poisoned Berry (7/1), Howaboutnever (14/1), Bourbon Prince (16/1), Edgar (25/1), Perfect Timing (66/1)

Verdict

Nothing here has a solid profile, and caution is advised. The suggestion is DEEBAJ, who seems to go well here and will find this easier than some of the races he's been contesting. Astrum might have his own ideas about things but he's alt least consistent and should again run his race and pick up some prizemoney. Sailors Warn is another that needs to get out of bed on the right side but he's capable in the grade. Market support for Bourbon Prince could be significant.
