Sole success in twelve career starts came on debut at Pontefract (1m2f) for Gay Kelleway in April 2015. However, has been placed on three occasions on the AW (runner up twice) over this trip for this trainer, so is versatile. Handicap mark (79) the lowest it's ever been, so makes the shortlist in first time cheek-pieces in a winnable contest.

Lightly raced four-year-old who was twice a runner up in maiden company last season (1m2f, Windsor in June 2016, and 1m4f, Lingfield in July 2016). Made a pleasing handicap debut, beaten 2¾L into third by Champagne Champ over 1m6f at Salisbury in October. Sure to go close if staying this extra two furlongs.

20/1
Dual purpose type who has won 8 of his 51 races (3 from 16 on the AW; including twice at this track over 1m3f), but has never raced beyond 1m5f on the Flat. Not at his best when last seen here over 1m4f in January, but this is easier, and doesn't feature improving sorts like Sennockian Song and Ickymasho.

10/1
1m4f Doncaster maiden runner up for John Gosden in July 2016, but moved on for 21,000 gns in October 2016. Possibly needed his stable debut in November (sole other start over 2m), but was a runner up at this track in a 1m4f maiden in late January.

Ayr Of Elegance24
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-3| J: R Kingscote| T: P Hide| OR:  73
7/1
Four time career runner up who has lost her perenial 'bridesmaid' tag the past twice when successful over 1m4f and 2m at Lingfield. Whilst that first maiden stakes didn't take much winning she showed determination in spades to edge out Icebuster last time, and races from just a 1lb higher mark today.

Canadian Diamond38
Age: 10|  Weight: 9-0| J: Adam Beschizza| T: R Rowe| OR:  70
17/2
Now 12lb higher for a hat-trick of AW successes since mid December (all over 2m; and twice over C&D), it was perhaps a shade surprising to see him go over hurdles last time at Ludlow in mid February. Sensibly back on the Flat, and goes well here for this rider, so difficult to see him not figuring in a moderate race.

Forecasts

Endless Acres (4/7), Ayr Of Elegance (7/1), Glan Y Gors (8/1), Canadian Diamond (17/2), Lord Napier (10/1), Golden Jubilee (20/1)

Verdict

Ayr of Elegance seeks the hat-trick, and her chance is an obvious one from a handicapping perspective, racing from just a 1lb higher mark, but unfortunately for her, this race is at Kempton and not at Lingfield. Endless Acres is the sole unexposed sort in the race, and whilst he would appear likely to get this trip, he needs to definitively prove he stays before he can be recommended, so with a falling handicap mark the top-weighted GLAN Y GORS can be fancied to trouble the judge for the first time for this trainer David Simcock.
  1. Glan Y Gors
  2. Endless Acres
  3. Canadian Diamond
