$550,000 yearling, second foal by Distorted Humour with a US pedigree. Half-sister to 6F stakes winner Counterforce. Once raced as a juvenile, when only fourth of seven (6/4f) at Newmarket in May 2016. Returns to the track for AW debut wearing a hood, and up in trip with 2016 champion apprentice booked.

Unraced sixth foal of a dam (Toffee Vodka) who produced five winners. This trip looks a reasonable starting point for a filly who was previously declared to run (non runner) at Lingfield on February 25th. Wears a hood on debut.

9/1
Unraced 32,000 gns yearling by Foxwedge out of a Pivotal mare (Domitia). Her dam was an unraced half-sister to the talented 6F sprinter Elronaq. Stable going reasonably well.

Horse silk
100/1
20,000 gns yearling who looked very much in need of the experience when blowing any chance early over C&D just under a fortnight ago (a distant eighth of nine to Preobrajenska). Will need to have improved significantly in a short space of time to be involved.

9/2
€250,000 yearling second foal by Lonhro out of Aquarius Star who has performed with credit on both her career starts to date. Her debut second placed effort to Mittens at Lingfield came over this 7F trip, and she possibly just saw the extended mile beyond her (for now) next time at Wolverhampton. Key player.
Beaten by just ½L by Preobrajenska when starting favourite for a slightly lower grade C&D fillies maiden recently. Appeared straight enough for that run, but obviously even minimal improvement can be expected, with this €160,000 yearling likely to be thereabouts.

Inexpensive purchase who blew her chance at the start when fourth of seven to Hajjam on debut at Lingfield (7F) on Wednesday. Turned out quickly with an inexperienced rider booked, which wouldn't appear to be the most logical approach given that tardy start on debut.

Manaahil
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Jim Crowley| T: C Hills
6/1
Unraced Dubawi filly out of a Cape Cross mare. A third foal and a full sister to French 1m2f to 1m4f winner Mushawweq. Possible that she will find this trip on the sharp side on debut, but catches the eye with the champion jockey booked.

Horse silk
50/1
Showed signs of promise over C&D on her debut in September 2016 (fourth to Pichola Dance), but very disappointing on her second start when well down the field in a similar Chelmsford maiden fillies contest. Given a lengthy break which may see her in a different light, but minor places player at best.

Forecasts

Arabian Hope (1/1), Global Alexander (3/1), Getna (9/2), Manaahil (6/1), Foxy Lass (9/1), Star Of Bristol (50/1), Happy Escape (50/1), Coya (50/1), Garnetta (100/1)

Verdict

Saeed Bin Suroor has a healthy record with his three-year-old's on the AW at this track over the past five years (19 from 77; 25%, +19.65), and ARABIAN HOPE has a pedigree which suggests that this surface will suit. Starting off early doors, she was seemingly well regarded as a juvenile, but was 'roughed off' after a likely below par debut, and better can be expected on her AW bow with the first time hood applied and the excellent Josephine Gordon booked. Getna promises to be suited by dropping back to this trip, whilst Global Alexander steps up slightly in grade after a polished enough debut runners up effort over C&D earlier this month.
  1. Arabian Hope
  2. Getna
  3. Global Alexander
