Cost €40,000 as a foal and sold for 50,000 gns as a yearling. Related to sprint winners and could run a big race if ready to go on debut.
Wears cheekpieces for his debut and bred for plenty further than this. Jockey been in flying form over the winter though and worth bearing in mind he's worth his 7lb claim.
Cost £10,000 at the end of October and plenty of speed in his pedigree but he is a late foal and may do better as the year progresses.

Cost connections £10,000 and this trainer/jockey combination warrant plenty of respect. The latter is a dab hand in sprint races and this colt has an attractive looking sprint pedigree. However, being drawn on the wing is awkward.

This trip likely to be far too sharp for him on debut and hard to fancy looking at his pedigree.

Cheap purchase likely to want further with time and yard do better with their old horses.

Plenty of speed in his pedigree and cost connections €24,000 at the sales in September. Trainer has won this twice in the last years and plenty to like about his chances.
Cost €8,500 as a yearling and plenty of speed in his pedigree but trainer and jockey have a poor record over this C&D and this looks a decent renewal.

Speed in her pedigree and trainer has a respectable strike rate for a smaller yard who had a winner earlier in the week. Yard capable of readying one first time and one of the more interesting candidates.
Yard have won this three times in the last ten years and trainer has a fine record over this C&D (18.42%). Enough speed in her pedigree to be of interest and with a useful 5lb claimer booked, she will only carry a feather weight.

Only horse across the two divisions to have had a start and made a promising start to her career in France last week, finishing third of 17 in a valuable affair. That experience can count for plenty in a race such as this and she could be hard to beat.

Forecasts

Jurisprudance (11/4), Move To The Front (7/2), The Love Doctor (9/2), Requinto Dawn (6/1), Bee Machine (8/1), Hellovaqueen (10/1), Black Orange (14/1), Cruel Clever Cat (25/1), Captain Kissinger (33/1), One Last Hug (33/1), Quick Skips Lad (66/1)

Verdict

This is looking like the far stronger division and the narrow vote goes to the only horse with racecourse experience accross both divisions of this year's Brocklesby, JURISPRUDENCE. She performed with great credit on debut in France last week and that experience could well be invaluable. Bill Turner and Richard Fahey both have great records in this race and they run Hellovaqueen and Requinto Dawn. The former has the services of a 5lb claimer who has won this before while the latter cost connections a pretty penny at the sales last year and could go well. Move To The Front is another with connections worthy of respect and Adam Kirby takes the ride. He's an excellent pilot over the minimum trip and he should get a good tune out of the colt.
  1. Jurisprudance
  2. Hellovaqueen
  3. Move To The Front
