Successful on 11 occasions during a 121 race career, and sprung a big shock when landing a C&D handicap earlier this month at odds of 25/1. On the end of a shock result himself next time when fourth (raised 6lb) to 33/1 outsider Nelson's Bay.
23 race maiden, but has been running consistently well at this track since Christmas. Needs things to drop his way in order to get off the mark, and possibly isn't the ideal ride for an inexperienced claimer, but his stable are in good form with jumps winners at Market Rasen and Hexham this week.
Goes particularly well at this track with C&D figures which read 3,1,2. Given a short break since going down by ½L to the then fully tuned up Orlando Rogue last time, but 7lb higher than when comfortably dispatching Bromance prior to that run in late December 2016; hence the call for this 7lb claimer.
Formerly trained by Keith Dalgleish, and was with that Carluke based trainer when last seen running in a 7F seller at Redcar in May 2016. Absence to overcome on stable debut, and now dropped 9lb for his AW debut, but just the single piece of 'decent' form to speak about as such at Redcar in October 2015.
Overcame a five month absence when a clear cut 1L conqueror of Spirit of Zebedee over 6F here in mid January (form solid). Upped 8lb thereafter, and yet to prove he stays this trip (unraced beyond 7F). 50% AW strike rate (two from four), with the first time visor perhaps surprisingly added.
Ex Marco Botti trained, and just the two starts for this yard, but seemingly well held by Kiwi Bay on their C&D form from earlier in the month. Dropped a further 2lb, but it'll be no surprise if he takes a step forward at some point for this shrewd trainer.
Two time turf winner who ended last season out of form after a fair second at Doncaster in August 2016. Twice placed from higher marks in the past on turf at this track (7F, August 2015), but nowhere near as effective in two goes on Tapeta.
Most likely needed the run when tenth of 13 over 7F to Symbolic Star here earlier this month (first run since June 2016), with his sole success coming over this trip at Musselburgh in May 2016. Likes to race prominently, and that's often a tough ask at this track.
Turned the form book upside down when a ready 2½L winner of a similar low grade C&D handicap three weeks ago (previous winner Kiwi Bay fourth). Raised 5lb, and whilst it's a guessing game as to whether he can reproduce that form based upon his other recent efforts, he did win back to back at Musselburgh in April/May 2015.
Looks devoid of any ability, and fared little better on her recent C&D handicap debut (sixth of eight) than in any of her three previous runs in C&D maidens. A real shock if she's involved in the finish.
Stablemate of Nelson's Bay, and beaten into sixth place by that horse over C&D last time. That was somewhat of a disappointing run given that he started at odds of 5/1, and his previous course runs were almost certainly slightly better efforts. Dropped 2lb, but career profile of one win from 27 starts is none too appealing.
20 race turf maiden, and has finished last on four of his five starts since May 2014. Off the track for 18 months, and rather late to be seeking improvement on his AW debut at the age of nine. Impossible to fancy.

A race which in truth is best avoided. Both Kiwi Bay and Nelson's Bay were shock winners of similar low grade races at this track lately, and neither looks particularly reliable overall. First Excel looked a horse to follow when winning over 6F here in January, but one must have grave concerns as to his effectiveness over this stiff mile, whilst Arithmetic should do better in time for Ruth Carr. The dice gets cast in the direction of course regular SWANSWAY who despite inching up the weights, and being partnered by an inexperienced claimer, is almost certainly more reliable than most, and will run his race back from a short break.
