C&D winner who also won on the turf off a mark of 80 on handicap debut. Not been in quite the same form in two AW outings this year and may be best watched on this occasion.
Very consistent sort on the AW and only unplaced once on artificial surfaces and that came on his debut. Showed improved form to win a Wolverhampton 6f handicap in January off a mark of 70 and improved again on that last time out to win again over 6f at Kempton Park. Usually held-up and will be suited by a strong pace.
Just 1/25 on the AW with the losing run starting to stack up now with the last win coming in 2015. Didn't run too badly over this trip last time out but does need a strongly run race over 6f.
Won two AW 6f handicaps at Kempton Park last year (made all both times) but not seen since. Back from a fair absence now off a 5lb higher mark than his last win and if fit would be dangerous with a soft lead.
Was in good form in 2016 winning five handicaps the last three coming in a hat-trick in July/August. Looked as though he needed the race last time out when returning from a break at Chelmsford over 6f and might just need another run to bring him to concert pitch.
All of his 12 wins have come on the AW with seven of them being registered here. It is though a while since he's seen the winner's enclosure but is starting to look well treated again now.
Opportunistic winner over C&D last time out when seen to good effect under a well-judged forcing ride. Unlikely to get a similar scenario now with other front-runners in the race and races off a 6lb higher mark this time around.
Very consistent on the AW since the turn of the year (2112) winning two 6f handicaps with one of them over C&D off a mark of 64. Wasn't beaten far off a 1lb lower mark last time out at Newcastle and in his current form hard to leave out of the equation here.
Forecasts
Dream Farr (2/1), Spirit Of Zebedee (3/1), Don't Blame Me (9/2), Anonymous John (7/1), Top of The Bank (8/1), Chetan (16/1), Very Honest (16/1), Bertie Blu Boy (25/1)
Just about the most competitive race on the card with a fair few having claims on winning this. Given the pace profile of the race it looks sure to be run at a decent clip with Don’t Blame Me of interest amongst the pace setters. Whether the pace will be strong enough for Anonymous John at 6f is open to question and of those coming from off the pace DREAM FARR looks the safest option given his recent form. Spirit Of Zebedee is a consistent sort and should be thereabouts again to carry on his good run of form this year.
