Clearly goes well on Polytrack and around this course where he is a winner over 7f. Strong traveller who runs here under a 6lb penalty after his recent Kempton win over 7f. Stays a mile though and should continue to run well on his return to this course.
Just his second visit to this course and has yet to win on the AW from 5 starts. Has not been with this yard long but they look to be gradually finding the key to him off a mark that shouldn't be beyond him.
Has been consistent so far in four runs on the AW and showed his best form when dropped in trip to win over a mile at Chelmsford last time out. Still looks unexposed and may not find this mark of 75 beyond him here.
Lightly-raced maiden whose last three outing have come on the AW over various distances. Comes back from a break here for his second try in a handicap having being dropped 1lb from his initial mark and more would be needed to make an impression here.
A course winner over 1m2f and 1/1 for today's pilot who rode him to his win here. Twice a winner on the AW over a mile he steps down to this distance after three recent runs over further and may find a couple more speedy here.
Has looked to show improved form since a hood was added to the cheekpieces he generally wears winning two of his last three races. The second of those wins came over C&D but that win was in a lower grade he faces today and this test may just prove too much off a mark that has tested him of late.
Forecasts
Saleh (2/1), Captain Courageous (3/1), Russian Reward (7/2), Zain Emperor (6/1), Thundering Blue (11/1), Wink Oliver (14/1)
An interesting small field contest to open that card with and it will be no surprise to see Saleh heading the market again and making another bold bid. Both Zain Emperor and Russian Reward would have chances although both may be better over slightly further. Wink Oliver faces a rise in class and that leaves CAPATAIN COURAGEOUS as the one to side with. He’s been in good form on the AW and looks to have some further improvement left in him.
- Captain Courageous
- Saleh
- Zain Emperor
