Sold cheap as a yearling and off putting he hasn't made his debut before now. Given his age, he's forced to concede weight and the booking of a 7lb claimer suggests he may struggle.
Much improved second over C&D last time, just failing to get the better of a well-backed favourite and must have claims once again if ridden the same way. Sets a reasonable standard on form but he is vulnerable to anything above average.
Likely to want further than this and 7lb claimer yet to ride a winner. Looks up against it on debut.
Outrun his odds (50/1) to finish third last time in a Kempton maiden and it's a race that's produced winners. Beaten by two well-backed rivals and should give another good account if ready to go after a short absence.
Starting to look a bit exposed after only nine starts and not progressing, with the drop in grade not helping on last couple of efforts, particularly disappointing last time. Looks up against once again despite trainer firing in the winners in recent weeks.
Bought for a 100,000 gns as a two-year-old and made a very interesting start to his career at Kempton last time shaping well before fading late on. Is likely to want further than this with time but yard do very well with their younger horses and jockey booking is eye-catching, so he must be a leading player with improvement expected.
Made a promising debut (not knocked about) at Newmarket in October over 7f but didn't back that up when returning at Lingfield last time. Will want further than this and likely to be a bigger threat in handicaps.
Forecasts
William Sayle (7/4), Golden Wolf (2/1), Armagnac (5/2), Major Cornwallis (8/1), Forestry (50/1), Diamante (150/1), Bite My Tongue (200/1)
WILLIAM SAYLE made some eye-catching progress before fading at Kempton on his debut, with early greenness perhaps to blame. Very much entitled to come on for that run and he looks like the most interesting runner in here. Things finally clicked for Armagnac last time over C&D and he may be able to build on that now while Golden Wolf was beaten by a couple of useful looking types and the form of that race has been boosted since so he could go well again.
- William Sayle
- Armagnac
- Golden Wolf
