Half-brother to a couple of winners including Asifa who won on an AW race. Dam won in the USA and was third in the Prix Saint-Alary. Finished down the field in a hot Newcastle maiden after taking a keen hold. May need more time and a longer trip. Trainer is 1-30 here in recent years.

Second foal of the top class mare Fantasia who won the Nell Gwynn for Luca Cumani. Raced keenly on softish ground on debut last autumn. Sure to come on for the run and stable are 24-67 with their three-year-olds around here (for a profit of 3.5 points).

Half-brother to an Italian winner from the first crop of Delegator. Looked in need of the run on Southwell debut and may be one for handicaps further down the line.

Ran well to go down to a fitter in form rival last time. Has some solid form but continues to be found lacking in a finish. His BHA rating of 85 sets a good standard and makes him the one to beat.

Forecasts

Tafaakhor (2/7), Jupiter Light (11/4), Barwell (16/1), Stragar (33/1)

Verdict

TAFAAKHOR is proving expensive to follow and connections have tried everything to try and shed his maiden tag. Tonight he is dropped in class and faces his easiest task to date but he would not be one to take a short price about. His chance depends on whether Jupiter Light has improved enough over the winter to reach the standard required to engage in a battle with him. John Gosden's colt has a fine pedigree and market support will indicate how ready he is. Barwell will win races in time but probably over further than this.
