Winner of a similar race to this over 2m1f at Plumpton in January but beaten 16L at Lingfield subsequently. Both those starts came on heavy ground but well beaten in novice company over hurdles over this trip in the past.

Maiden after 13 outings but ran well over this trip on his debut for this stable last month. First time tongue tie and cheekpieces combination seemed to work when finishing second on that occasion and interesting if putting a poor subsequent outing behind him.

6/1
Maiden after ten outings dating back to October 2012. Beaten 21L at Huntingdon over hurdles on soft ground earlier this month and makes a return to chasing here (pulled up on only previous start over fences).

Finished runner-up on good ground on his penultimate start here in August. Well beaten at Warwick in September when last seen out however and remains a maiden after 12 career outings.

5/1
Yet to win in 11 outings but run well the last twice including when 15L third at Exeter over 2m3f earlier this month. A beaten favourite on that occaison but likely to put up a bold show once more having finished runner-up on his previous outing.

Well beaten in all six outings so far and failed to complete the last twice. More needed to figure here.

Winner at Plumpton earlier this month when last seen in action when making his chasing debut. Had fallen over hurdles prior to that but likely to go well again here off a 5lb higher mark here.

Forecasts

Goonjim (5/2), Midnight Mustang (5/2), Whos De Baby (9/2), Gustav (5/1), Instingtive (11/2), Get Back To Me (6/1), Captains Horse (17/2), Airpur Desbois (11/1)

Verdict

MIDNIGHT MUSTANG can follow up her two successes last month by notching up a hat-trick here. The ten-year-old has been rejuvenated by the fitting of cheekpieces and with the trip and predicted ground likely to suit he can get the better of Goonjim who scored on his chasing debut at Plumpton earlier this month and Gustav who can step up on his disappointing effort last time out.
  1. Midnight Mustang
  2. Goonjim
  3. Gustav
