Won a couple of minor events at Southwell and Leicester this winter before finishing third at Southwell again on her latest start, possibly finding the ground a bit soft (still not beaten far). Likely ground conditions here much more suitable and she's the solid option in a race of out-of-form sorts.
Finds it hard getting her head in front, as a win record of 2-53 shows, and in truth has shown next to nothing in four starts for her new yard. Mark is dropping quickly now, but she shows no signs of being able to take advantage.
Lightly raced in recent years, and this will only be his sixth start in the last two years, but more letters than numbers in his form figures this winter and can't be realistically entertained as a winner here.
Third to the improving Coolking at Plumpton in February shines like a beacon amongst a sea of otherwise poor and moderate runs, and was again pulled up on his latest start back at the Sussex venue in February.
Stays well but hasn't shown much for a couple of seasons now, although latest effort at Huntingdon (over a trip too short) wasn't totally devoid of promise. Step back up to 3m here will suit and in such a weak race, needs a market check.
Regressive and races from out of the handicap here. Second at Lingfield in early March his best run to date, although was beaten 15L there and it's not saying much. Not completely disgraced latest and might pick up some place money, but an unlikely winner.
Forecasts
Midnight Jade (2/1), Big Georgie (2/1), Over My Head (7/2), Cruising Bye (10/1), Astigos (10/1), Knockgraffon King (33/1)
The majority of these come into this in poor form, and it looks a great opportunity for MIDNIGHT JADE to get back to winning ways. She probably found Southwell's sticky conditions against her on her latest start and will find the likely drying ground much more suitable here. Cruising Bye showed a bit more on his latest start and if building on that, might pick up the silver medal, and the scrap for the bronze, wide open as it is, might fall to Over My Head,, despite being well out of the handicap.
- Midnight Jade
- Cruising Bye
- Over My Head
