Third foal by Monsieur Bond out of Bond Casino who has shown little on both AW starts so far, and drops back to 5F on her third start looking rather light in terms of ability and concedes weight all round.

Stablemate of Melonade, and beaten 4L in third by Gnaad in a 5f Southwell maiden last week. Whilst again dwelling, this was a step up from what he'd achieved on his sole previous start at Thirsk in July 2016. Switches to Tapeta tonight.

Had plenty of attempts to shed the maiden tag on turf between June and October 2016 (raced nine times), and returns to the track in a weak race for his AW debut following a five month break. Versatile in terms of track, having finished runner up at both Beverley and Pontefract previously, but is rated just 68.

First foal by Mayson out of Cambridge Duchess, and looks the stable first string on riding arrangements with Darvie also in the line up.

Royal Request10

11/8
Stable has a strong record with their three-year-old's at this track, and this Royal Applause filly made a most pleasing start in going down by a head ten days ago to Magic Approach at Wolverhampton (6F). Looks the one to beat in a very winnable race despite the drop in trip over a much stiffer track.

Forecasts

Royal Request (11/8), Melonade (6/4), Sheepscar Lad (5/1), Darvie (8/1), Six Of The Best (66/1)

Verdict

A very weak maiden, even by median auction standards, with the James Tate trained ROYAL REQUEST handed a golden opportunity to get off the mark at the second attempt. She receives weight from all of her rivals (bar her main danger; the debutant Melonade), and in the hands of Luke Morris surely only needs to replicate rather than better her recent debut at Wolverhampton to shed the maiden tag.
  1. Royal Request
  2. Melonade
  3. Darvie
