Took advantage of a career low mark to score at Doncaster. Has run well in the face of stiffer tasks since. Handicapper demands more but this may not be as competitive as the number of runners suggests. Stable's horses have been running well recently.
Has been hopelessly out of form since leaving Gordon Elliott in late 2014, failing to make any inroads in eight runs since.
Winner on his handicap debut at Newcastle in December 2016, in a race which probably didn't take too much winning. Now races off a mark just 1lb higher than when successful and ought to be more competitive than of late.
Has hinted at ability and has scope to improve. Chance is not obvious but makes handicap debut over a significantly longer trip. Stable have had two winners this week so one to check in the market.
Irish point-to-point form indicates he needs the quicker ground on offer here. Interesting now up in trip and with handicap mark assessed under unsatisfactory conditions.
Produced his best recent effort over C&D last time. Takes a keen hold and has been prone to errors. Not bred to stay and style of running makes that less likely.
Winner on desperate ground at Sedgefield and well held since. Has yet to reach the frame on ground as quick as this.
Has been placed three times here and best effort came over this trip. Has since run well in first time cheekpieces and can go close again.
Hasn't won since taking a selling hurdle at Huntingdon in August 2014. Winner off a 22lb higher mark in the past but out of form of late.
Three time hurdles winner, but not since January 2015 when rated 97, and has shown little now for quite a while. Drops another 5lb following another tame effort last time.
Last win came when the sole survivor in a novice chase here in November 2014. Form has been in decline of late but mark continues to plunge. Blinkers replace cheekpieces but hard to recommend at present.

Grand Enterprise (11/4), Miss Barbossa (7/2), Oishin (7/1), Shine A Diamond (9/1), The Wise One (10/1), Parc Des Princes (10/1), Touch Of Steel (10/1), Paddy's Yarn (12/1), Cadore (14/1), Bollin Julie (20/1), Classical Sound (25/1), I C Gold (40/1)
THE WISE ONE does not need to improve much for the longer trip and faster conditions to pick up his first race for James Ewart. The Irish point-to-point winner has raced on unfavourable ground since arriving here. The stable's horses are now performing better and he is taken to land this at the expense of Miss Barbossa. She now tackles her optimum trip in the cheekpieces which had the desired effect last time. Grand Enterprise has been running consistently well and another bold show can be expected despite topweight. His trainer is doing well with his small string of horses and had a winner and a second at Hexham last week.
