Winner on the Flat (rated 80) for Roger Varian. Got off the mark over C&D for new trainer at the turn of the year before failing to stay when tackling further next time. Has less questions to answer than some in this, but it is more than likely there is something better handicapped lurking lower in the weights.
Failed to score for Nigel Twiston-Davies and wears a hood on first start for new yard. Well beaten in a seller last time and best watched for signs of greater enthusiasm.
Won a bumper for Mick Channon in 2015 but has drawn a blank since for Harry Fry and current handler. Has flattered to deceive on more than one occasion and trainer 0-30 with hurdlers here.
Stable went off the boil shortly after his good second to an in form rival at Carlisle who has won again since. Has not looked a straightforward ride on some occasions since. Returns from a break and that may be the best time to catch him.
A dual winner over longer trips (2m4f+) in August 2016 for Sean Thomas Doyle at Tramore and Wexford, but drops back to the minimum trip for the first time on his third start for this trainer. Has appeared to lack stamina so far in England (travels well enough), so shouldn't be inconvenienced by the switch. Stable in form with a 5-21 record for the past fortnight.
Has something to find with Idder on running here in January (just 7lb better off for 12L). Has shown improved form on the Flat to win an AW race since, before bumping into a smart one last time on unsuitable ground.
Relishes the forecast conditions and has slipped to the sort of mark that he looks more than capable of challenging from. Finished 9L ahead of Leading Score at Catterick in November and renews rivalry on 2lb better terms here. Shorter trip makes him even more attractive.
Looked set to open her account on handicap debut only to lose her rider on the run-in. Went up 8lb for that and was not disgraced behind a useful rival last time. Yet to race on ground as quick as this and pedigree suggests that may be an issue.

CLOUD MONKEY ran an excellent race to chase home the useful Sharp Response at Wetherby in October. He has slid to an attractive mark over hurdles and this triple Flat winner will appreciate the drop in trip. Leading Score will be better now returning from a break. He has a bit to find with Cloudy Monkey on running at Catterick in November but the stable are in better form now. Craig Star will be seen to better effect now that he has dropped in the weights and gets faster ground. The yard's horses are running better now than they were on his first two starts for them.
