Last seen in action in August 2016 when finishing last of seven in a 7f Class 4 handicap at Thirsk, and hasn't raced on the AW since November 2014. Effective over this trip during the summer of 2014, winning three times during July and August, and spent most of last summer to no avail competing in Class 4 handicaps. Advancing in years, but respected in this grade.
Has shown precious little in four races for this trainer (including in a seller most recently) since joining the yard for 27,000 gns from Owen Burrows in October 2016. His sole success came in a 7F Catterick maiden in September (all out), and he has plenty to prove for now.
The handicapper has made life difficult in terms of winning since a decisive 6F Fibresand success at Southwell in December, but to be fair, this five-year-old has shown reasonable form since, including when 2L second to Safe Voyage over 7F here in January. Capable of going well in this company.
Didn't finish off his race over this trip here last week when last of ten to Epeius and rated just 58, has plenty to find on these terms in this claiming stakes. Difficult to fancy.
The pick of her form gives her every chance in this grade. She finished a close second in a Class 5 handicap over this C&D back in August 2016 to Master Bond, and she also boasts placed turf form from last back-end. Whilst she's arguably not been at her most effective in three races since her return in January, she's certainly a likely player at this level.
A six race maiden who most certainly hasn't uprooted any trees in 'earning' a mark of just 63, with connections seemingly uncertain about his best trip (raced between 5F and 7F). The youngest of this field, so arguably open to most improvement, with his trainer far from a regular visitor to this track.
Forecasts
Ticks The Boxes (13/8), Semana Santa (11/4), Endeavour (3/1), Compton Park (5/1), Disclosure (18/1), Masarzain (22/1)
Low grade fare in which the returning Compton Park would hold strong claims on his best career form, but he's advancing in years now and there must be serious question marks as to whether he retains as much ability. Therefore, it should pay to concentrate on AW regulars Semana Santa and TICKS THE BOXES, with the latter named just given the edge. He appears badly handicapped, with the assessor slow to relinquish his grip since that decisive Southwell victory in December, hence the drop into this company.
- Ticks The Boxes
- Semana Santa
- Endeavour
