Winner at Market Rasen off an 8lb lower mark in December he ran well here last time out over C&D. Went down by a head on that occasion in first-time cheekpieces (retained here) and should continue to give a good account.
Has shown some useful form over hurdles in the past although hasn't won in that sphere since 2013. Last win came on his handicap chasing debut February 2015) but has been seen sparingly over fences after that outing. Now well below that winning chase mark but has looked to be struggling to see even the minimum trip out of late.
Comes from a very in-form stable but has been inconsistent in the past although he turned in his best effort of the season last time out winning a small field handicap chase at Plumpton. Up 7lb for that win and still well treated on his best form but no banker to be in the same form this time around.
Quickly switched to fences after just four hurdles outings and went backwards from his chasing debut last time out. The drop back in trip may well help here but his mark still looks a stiff one against some experienced rivals.
Progressive in point-to points he landed a gamble when making his handicap debut at Doncaster in January landing a gamble in the process despite a horrific last fence blunder. Probably found the race coming too soon attempting to follow-up quickly at Towcester six days later back over hurdles. 16lb higher now but probably still open to improvement over fences and interesting after a break.

Forecasts
Starkie (15/8), Ypsilanti (3/1), Unzing (4/1), Ifandbutwhynot (6/1), Double Treasure (6/1), Contre Tous (13/2)
A relatively competitive heat and Starkie will be a popular choice for many hailing from the in-form yard of Chris Gordon but t he’s never been the most consistent and at short odds it may pay to look elsewhere. The youngster Contre Tous looks to have obvious potential if he can finish off his races better and Unzing clearly enjoys his visits here but YPSILANTI could well still have improvement left in him over fences and gets the vote coming back from a break.
