Looked like another successful rebuilding project for the stable when exploiting a career low mark last week. Having won off a mark of 78 for Andrew Balding there is potential for a lot more to come.
Last three victories have come with this headgear combination. Ran well only previous visit here and of interest having failed over further last time when cheekpieces were applied. Engaged 8:45 Wolverhampton Friday.
Best efforts have come off this mark. Winner at Wetherby last year and has posted two good efforts here this winter. Has looked one paced but should give another honest account here.
Best performance came when beating Menelik at Chelmsford. That horse has improved to make the form look better whilst she reverted to her previous modest level next time. Tends to start slowly which does not improve her prospects.
Only win came at Kempton in September 2015, but has come close on numerous occasions since, and has proven herself particularly effective on this surface. Missed the break last time and that run may have come too soon. Will return fresher this time and can prove that run all wrong.
Still a maiden after 23 starts. Steps up in trip and best career effort came here over 9½f in 2015. Remains hard to recommend on more recent evidence.
Has won twice over C&D and best recent run came here too. Gets in on a 4lb lower mark than his latest success. Tends to miss the break but goes well for today's rider.
Got a fine ride to spring a 25/1 surprise over C&D in December. Finished last earlier this month when rider was unable to cover him up. May be more of a factor here but others look more likely.
Has won twice here including once under today's rider. Has been off the track since an unsuccessful summer hurdling campaign. May need the run.
Has gone off at big odds in all starts under both codes. May do better now handicapping but still makes little appeal from out of the weights.
Unplaced in 10 of his last 11 starts and record reads one win from 33 starts. Has worn headgear previously without distinction. Has a lot to prove here from out of the handicap judged on his last performance.
Forecasts
Hannington (9/4), Coach Bombay (4/1), Simply Clever (9/2), Canford Belle (7/1), Mount Cheiron (9/1), Turaathy (16/1), Foylesideview (22/1), Vivre La Reve (25/1), Pipers Piping (25/1), Way Up High (33/1), Overrider (40/1)
HANNINGTON got his head in front last time and having done just enough to win there could be more to come. He has most to fear from Canford Belle who runs this track well and can be forgiven her latest effort. Mount Cheiron is another who goes well here and he has dropped to an attractive mark.
- Hannington
- Canford Belle
- Mount Cheiron
