Solid form figures and showed he is learning his trade well after posting a determined effort at Kelso at the start of this month. He is obviously thriving on being kept busy and may have slipped under the radar whilst his better fancied stalemates ply their trade at Cheltenham. One to seriously consider.

Posted a solid effort at Chepstow back in January but has been well below that form in a couple of subsequent starts. He will be well handicapped in comparison to his hurdles form, but he is yet to really convince that he can excel in this sector of racing.

Hasn't been the most fluent jumper in recent outings but showed he can be a force to be reckoned with after victories at Sedgefield and Bangor respectively. Good chance in this small field but needs keep his mind on the task in hand. Cheekpieces will be of assistant and has a very capable jockey booked for the ride, so has no excuses this time.

Coming into his own as a chaser and can no doubt continue to have an impact in this sort of race before the end of the season. He may struggle in future handicaps after this, so would be no surprise to see him try and make the most of what he has for now. Likely to make a bid to dominate once more., but needs to step things up another notch to land his hat-trick. .

Make Me A Fortunep26
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-6| J: S Bowen| T: S Gollings| OR:  105

Has won off a much higher mark over hurdles but his efforts over fences haven't been anywhere near as good. The assessor has him about right and he may struggle to have an impact against an improving type.

Forecasts

Cabragh (5/2), Master Jake (3/1), Join The Clan (3/1), Make Me A Fortune (9/2), Little Windmill (7/1)

Verdict

The progressive MASTER JAKE is presented with an ideal opportunity to bring about a welcome change of fortune. He has showed that he has learned from his mistakes and can finally gain a deserved success over fences if he stays focused to the finish this time. Little Windmill is thriving on racing at the moment and is again likely to be involved in the thick of the action, while Join The Clan is well treated on his hurdles form but needs to post an improved effort to get off the mark in this type of race. Cabragh, on the other hand knows exactly what is required and will be a threat to them all if he can shake-off whatever was troubling him last time out.
  1. Master Jake
  2. Little Windmill
  3. Cabragh
