Pulled up in a three-mile handicap at this track latest, previous chase form gives him plenty to do currently.

Led at the second last recently at Clonmel, jumping error rather costing him his chance. Has been there or thereabouts in this sort of race before, has his chance again.

Set for chase debut, failed to complete in two most recent starts over hurdles however, looks best watched today.

Failed to complete in two of three chase starts, most recently unseating rider at Thurles last month over two-miles. Hard to be confident he'll turn that around just yet.

Doesn't appear to be as proficient over fences as hurdles, failing to cut much ice in five starts. Below par at Haydock last month over flights, hard to fancy him in this.
Tailed off in two starts over fences, his only visits to the track so far, and needs vast amount of improvement from somewhere to become competitive today.

Forecasts

Crest (5/4), Mydor (2/1), Bright Tomorrow (5/1), Kentucky Star (8/1), Manuka (16/1), Surrogate Lad (33/1)

Verdict

CREST may be best equipped in what doesn't strike as a strong contest. He went well for a long time at Clonmel in his previous run before a late error rather scuppered his hopes. Mydor appears to be better over timber and, in any case, was out of form at Haydock when last seen so comes here with something to prove. Bright Tomorrow was pulled up around here latest and has something to find on form while Kentucky Star makes his chase debut having failed to complete in previous two hurdles runs. Manuka has jumping concerns to overcome while Surrogate Lad has been tailed off in two trips to the racecourse.
  1. Crest
  2. Mydor
  3. Kentucky Star
