Sole success came Taunton last season from 1lb higher and ran well next time from 7lb higher than today's mark, so has a little ability, though was beaten when unseating last time and looks best watched for now.
Rated 146 over hurdles and although he has not been at his best in recent outings, he has some very strong hurdling form in the context of this race. Seems to act on any ground and will be well schooled for this chase debut. Looks the one to beat.
Was rated in the 120s over hurdles when with David Pipe and has yet to quite return to that level in three runs for his current yard. Makes his chasing debut here after pulling up last time out, his only try over 3m over hurdles, which is a concern.
Forecasts
Shelford (4/11), Volt Face (7/2), Captainofindustry (6/1)
SHELFORD has this race at his mercy and with a clear round he should be comfortably good enough to win it. Volt Face was next best over hurdles and will probably emerge next best in this contest.
