Showed ability in point-to-points but has done little to back it up in a couple of start under rules and makes limited appeal judged on those performances.
Can make the running if he has to and has handled this course well on a couple of occasions already. No chance behind a decent type last time out and was left floundering in the closing stages. No surprise to see more patient tactics employed this time around. Sound claims but also vulnerable to a strong finisher.
Made very little impression since switching to hurdles and is probably best watched; may also be better off in handicaps over a slightly longer trip.
From a top yard, which does very well at this course (won three of the last five renewals of this race). However, he failed to live up to the promise he showed when winning a bumper at Market Rasen and has been a tad below expectations in a couple of subsequent starts over hurdles; he now has a little to prove. His rider's claim will come in handy but the gelding needs to post a better round of jumping than he delivered at Newbury last time out. Ran very keenly there so needs to learn how to settle and may be a bit of a handful for his inexperienced rider. First time headgear may help him focus though.
From an in-form yard and has already shown he has the capabilities to lay up with a decent pace. Has a bit to prove now there are obstacles in the way but is certainly worthy of consideration if the betting market highlights his claims in a positive manner.
Very hard to fancy on the evidence of his latest poor effort when he was never competitive and left behind from a long way out at Southwell; others readily preferred.
Reached a good standard on the Flat but was sent straight over hurdles after being gelded and has taken a little time to get the hang of things. Put in his place by a useful type last time out but has to merit a second look in this company. Possible he may need a little further before too long, though.
Won over 1m4f on the Flat, so there has to be a suspicion that he may need a tad further than this to be seen at his best. Well held on his hurdles debut, so already has something to prove.
Has pulled hard on a couple of occasions so no suspire to see her connections taking up the option of a hood today. Yard is very capable of getting to grips with her quirks but she may need more time. Also disconcerting that her better efforts have come in fairly low grade company.
Plummeted in the ratings before reaching a very modest level on the Flat and makes limited appeal in this new sphere of racing for her. Likeable breeding but hard to fancy from a betting perspective over this trip with hurdles in the way.
Only modest efforts on the AW for his current yard and makes limited appeal on his hurdling debut.
Sent off at odds of 100/1 in each of his hurdles starts so far and has run accordingly. Very difficult to make a strong case out for him even being a lively outsider just now.
Struggling to make an impact over hurdles and doesn't look a natural for the winter game. Better ground may suit but the consensus is to oppose him for the time being.
Never been placed on the Flat and in poor from on the AW for his current yard; switches codes but a career over jumps looks to be something of an afterthought.
Sent off as the favourite on his hurdles debut but came up just short of the mark. However, he faced a couple of decent types last time out and the form of that race has worked out well. Still learning, but is one to bear in mind given that he benefits from an age allowance at the weights today.

Putting Green (15/8), Christmas In April (5/2), Calva D'honore (4/1), So Celebre (5/1), Coyoacan (22/1), Scrutinise (25/1), Calling Des Blins (25/1), Burning Heat (50/1), Chateau Chinon (50/1), Head High (66/1), Miss Williams (100/1), Premier Currency (250/1), Brown Paddy (250/1), Kala Lord (250/1), Sayedaati Saadati (250/1), Seamoor Secret (250/1)
A tricky opener where a lot depends on whether Christmas In April can settle into a rhythm early enough so his rider can save a little in reserve for the finish. He has to be respected, given his yard's record in the race. However, the form of SO CELEBRE's latest start is working out well and, with the weight-for-age allowance on his side, he is a punters' choice to get things off to a flyer. Coyoacan is an interesting contender for a race of this nature and is one to monitor closely, while Calva D'honore is another with solid claims if he can run with a little more restraint this rime around.
- So Celebre
- Christmas In April
- Coyoacan
