Dual course winner but has never won over 5f on the Fibresand although he did look to be coming back to form on his last two starts. Tanked along (probably did a bit too much) when coming fourth here a few days ago and remains of interest off a reduced mark if he can settle better.

Fair handicapper who has won a seller on this surface over 6f but that was a fair few runs ago. Showed some promise on his penultimate start over 5f here but failed to build on that run last time out and questions to answer now.

Six-time course winner (one over C&D) and hinted that there may be a bit better to come after his last run over 6f. Can be a little slowly away and that may well hinder his chance back over the minimum trip.

Hit a purple patch last summer winning five races, three in handicaps at Ffos Las but hasn't shown much since then. Has run here four times previously but only placed once and has started to look a hard ride.

0/9 over C&D with only a couple of places to show for his efforts. Didn't shape too badly though here last time out over 6f when well backed and travelling well through the race although his finishing effort left a little to be desired as usual.

A regular visitor to this course and has been successful over this trip on three occasions. Last two efforts (one here) have been very lack lustre and needs to find some spark to get involved here.

Very limited experience of this surface and proving to be very inconsistent of late and has failed to build on any promise shown recently.

Is a winner over C&D and has shown some solid enough form in the right grade at this track. Had a stiff task last time out from out of the handicap and faces a slightly easier task today.

Red Flutev10

Yet to score at this course in three attempts and the blinkers worn for the first time last time out are exchanged for a visor now. Shaped a little better than the distance he was beaten last time (ran too free) and but still to show that he really acts on Fibresand.

Forecasts

Jacob's Pillow (9/4), Borough Boy (11/4), Only Ten Per Cent (5/1), Satchville Flyer (6/1), Oscars Journey (12/1), Red Flute (14/1), Imjin River (14/1), Very First Blade (16/1), Give Us A Belle (50/1)

Verdict

There are some disappointing types in this and it probably offers BOROUGH BOY a chance to atone for his last run here where he ran a little freely early on and despite travelling well failed to get home over 6f. He’s never won over 5f but with a falling mark that is hard to ignore this may be the opening that he needs. Red Flute was another to run too freely last time out and if he settles better he’s one who could take a hand in the finish along with Imjin River who has plenty of form on this surface. Jacob’s Pillow is another who enters the equation with plenty of decent efforts in similar contests to his name.
  1. Borough Boy
  2. Jacob's Pillow
  3. Red Flute
