Very capable in his prime but has a long absence to overcome and his fitness and readiness for a battle has to be taken on trust. Others preferred this time around.
Returned from a long absence recently and looked a shade of the horse he was during his time in France; very difficult to fancy on that evidence.
Versatile performer that has paid his way over the years. He made the most a very lenient mark to score at Wincanton last time out and, even under an 8lb higher mark, he has to be considered as a leadining candidate in this company.
Ran well over C&D on his penultimate start but was a touch disappointing last time out. Still a maiden but has place claims once again
Out of form of late and needs to put in a much stronger stint than he has been posting in recent times. Others readily preferred.
Claims on the best of his efforts but has a bit to find with Thundering Home and will need to pull out all the stops if he is going to reverse the form.
Shown a liking for this C&D and, with conditions to suit, no reason to doubt he is capable of getting involved at some point. has crept up the rating without winning though.
No impression in his hurdling efforts top date; makes his handicap debut off a reasonable mark but the profiles of some of the others hold more interest under scrutiny.
Made very little impact in his Jumping efforts so far and needs to improve out of all recondition to make his handicap debut a memorable day. His stable is in good form just now, though. Possible the handicap route may bring about some improvement so one to monitor in the betting at least.
Five winless efforts over hurdles so far and makes limited appeal on his first appearance in a handicap.
Switched yards again recently but the change of scenery hasn't really made an impoact on a racecourse as yet. One to watch on this occasion.
Not getting any younger and just one win from his whole career is off-putting. Pulled up in three of his last five starts suggests time is catching up with the eleven-year-old.
Forecasts
Thundering Home (10/3), Royal Etiquette (4/1), The Kid (5/1), Soulsaver (6/1), Sir Hubert (7/1), Chivers (8/1), Dragon Khan (12/1), Indomitable Spirit (16/1), Virtuose Du Gouet (20/1), Daring Knight (22/1), Nouailhas (50/1), Turbo Du Ranch (100/1)
An 8lb rise may not be enough to dent the enthusiasm of THUNDERING HOME, who was an eye-catching winner last time out and has been found a decent opportunity for his attempt to follow up. Sir Hubert and Royal Ettiquette can make life hard for the selection, while support for Soulsaver would also be interesting to note.
- Thundering Home
- Sir Hubert
- Royal Etiquette
