Form of her debut fifth in a small field maiden at Newmarket in August looks strong with the winner scoring in Group 1 company subsequently and the fourth in a Group 3 event. Not really kicked on from that but still early days and trainer's young fillies always worthy of respect. Jockey's strike rate with this trainer is 25% (2-8).
Still a maiden after 12 starts but one of her better efforts last time and trainer had a long-standing maiden win in a handicap at Kempton on Wednesday.
Seemed better suited to this track when switched here after two efforts at Lingfield. Trainer's handicap debutantes warrant respect upped in trip and kept on well so no reason why she won't get competitive here.
Poor in six turf starts and showed little on AW debut here. May need this after an absence.
Yet to show anything in three starts for this yard and not much better prior to that over the Irish Sea. Hard to fancy but drop back in trip may help.
Just one win from 17 starts and not beaten a rival home the last twice. Still above last winning mark and may be a more attractive prospect back on turf.
Attractive AW profile and scored on handicap debut last time upped in trip. Did well to quicken off a slow pace to win but that run was only a week ago and it was his first for a while so possible he will 'bounce'.
Unplaced in five starts to date, finishing fifth and later disqualified at Newcastle last time after losing his weight cloth. Not without market support beforehand but baring in mind he was 10lb lighter than he should have been throughout a large chunk of the race and still didn't finish in the money, he's hard to fancy here with plenty to do to turn the form around with winner of that contest, African Grey.
Still a maiden after seven starts but best two efforts came on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton so good chance he will enjoy this course but he needs the mini break to have improved him a little if he's to be considered for win purposes.
Unplaced on all five starts and trainer is yet to have an AW winner from 43 starts. Record on turf not much better and he has a superior record in the NH sphere. The filly may also need this after a lengthy amount of time off the track.
Four unplaced efforts to date and barely beaten a rival home in most of his starts. Needs first-time cheekpieces to work wonders.
Yet to place n seven career starts and trainer not had a winner in the past 12 months. 1lb out of the handicap and while she's been running a little better recently, she's hard to fancy.
Forecasts
African Grey (6/4), Forest Angel (11/4), Scala Regia (8/1), Magic Journey (8/1), Hollywood Harry (14/1), De Vegas Kid (22/1), Lady Volante (22/1), I Don't Believe It (33/1), La Haule Lady (33/1), Tranquil Tracy (40/1), Princess Way (40/1), Born To Boogie (100/1)
Provided AFRICAN GREY doesn't fall victim to the bounce factor, running so soon again after an absence, he may be able to record back-to-back course and distance wins. He managed to quicken off a sedate pace last time and it's still early days so he's like to work his way up through the ratings throughout the year. Sir Mark Prescott's AW debutantes are always worthy of consideration and Scala Regla looks well suited to this track. Forest Angel has contested some nice races at Newmarket and she may have needed her comeback run at Wolverhampton so she's another who warrants respect.
- African Grey
- Scala Regia
- Forest Angel
