Bred to be decent, and a full brother to the yard's useful hurdler/chaser Irish Saint, amongst others. Yard do well in these events and are 8-25 in bumpers at Wincanton over the last five seasons. Of obvious interest on debut.

Some promise on debut at Chepstow in December but didn't build on that at Newbury last time, albeit it was a decent race. Yard not known for bumper winners, and haven't had one for the last five seasons.
Last on debut at Exeter recently, showing nothing, and needs massive improvement from that to get involved.

Unfancied on debut at Wincanton (went off 25-1) but exceeded market expectations, travelling well and only finding one too good in the finish. Ran at least as well on latest start (on heavy) and has to be one of the likelier contenders today.

Nice enough introduction on bumper debut at Exeter (race working out okay) when making up some late ground to finish midfield, suggesting a race should come way at some point, but this looks a bit too tough for him at this stage.

Promise on all three starts and good effort on second of them, finishing second at Ascot (showed good turn of foot to challenge). Out of depth at Newbury last time but these are calmer waters, and not without a chance.

Very green at Fontwell on only start but did give indication that some ability was there, despite pulling hard. That form not as strong as some here though, and needs improving on.
Price dropped when resold last year, and although in good hands, looks one more for the long term. Yard get the odd bumper winner and are 2-31 at Wincanton last five seasons.

Forecasts

Lalor (13/8), Dark Invader (5/2), Present Destiny (6/1), Shillingsworth (6/1), Daylami Kirk (14/1), Le Drapeau (14/1), C'Est No Mour (20/1), Dont Even Go There (50/1)

Verdict

Dark Invader comes from a yard that do well in these events but on the likely heavy ground, the experience of LALOR swings the vote his way. He deserves to get his head in front after two solid efforts and this looks his chance. C'est No Mour and Le Drapeau both showed some promise on their debuts and they can fight it out for third, with improvement likely from both.
  1. Lalor
  2. Dark Invader
  3. Le Drapeau
