Made all to score over 1m2f last year and lightly campaigned since. Two runs back from an absence have been over this shorter trip and with more patient tactics adopted. Holds Ravenhoe on Newcastle running so has to enter calculations with an experienced rider on board.
Has finished well in the ruck on last five starts from marks that have not proved as attractive as they appeared. Top apprentice has been secured to ride but he remains one to have reservations about until more positive signals are received on course or in the betting market.
Career record of 2-8 shows she is more capable than most in this. Will be better for last run which came after a break. Has issues at the start which certainly cost her a race at Newbury last June. One of the more likely types in this if breaking on terms.
Winner of a Lingfield nursery for Luca Cumani. Has proved costly to follow since over different trips. Has had two runs for new yard five months apart. Drops to optimum trip here and blinkers fitted for first time.
Has won four on turf but yet to open AW account in 14 attempts. Looks held by King Of Dreams on Newcastle running. Last three runs have been below par and remains to be seen what her apprentice can deliver on her first public ride.
Others may be better handicapped but he is at least producing consistently good efforts. May have been given too much to do last time and looks a major contender here.
Won a similar race over C&D in December before finding longer trip just beyond him next time. Finished lame on latest start and would be a threat if able to reproduce those earlier efforts.
Two best recent efforts have been over this C&D. Has since been tried over 1m2f and if prepared to forgive those efforts he would have a big chance. May not be that straightforward a ride for a young rider.
Veteran who who has won 13-110. Now on a career low mark. Ran well in a seller last time but this requires a lot more from him.
One win from 10 starts for Andrew Balding. Doesn't seem the most straightforward type but having first run for new yard and market likely to reveal expectations.
Has shown basically nothing on three starts since moving from Mark Johnstone's, finishing last of all on all three occasions, including twice over C&D. Will need to leave that all behind him in a big way to be involved here.
All four previous starts have been at Wolverhampton displaying a modest level of ability. Needs to find more but will not have to dig as far as some in this.
Forecasts
Saleh (2/1), King of Dreams (11/2), Beleave (6/1), Jack Of Diamonds (10/1), Bluff Crag (10/1), Deeley's Double (12/1), Al Khafji (12/1), Red Cossack (12/1), Ravenhoe (16/1), Believe It (20/1), Light From Mars (25/1), Freight Train (100/1)
BELEAVE has some solid form in the book and has more scope to improve than any of these. She ran well after a layoff last time in higher grade and she has a top apprentice booked to ride. Saleh looks less complicated than most in this and arrives in peak condition. King of Dreams should be straighter following two runs back from a break. He has proven form over further and he would be a big threat to the selection if more positive tactics are adopted here.
- Beleave
- Saleh
- King of Dreams
