4-5 in point-to-point and perhaps more pertinently also ran well when runner-up in only start in this sphere. Forecast conditions suit and should go well.

Rated 115 at his best when with Donald McCain several seasons ago over hurdles. Won two point-to-points last spring without headgear and first use of it at Fakenham last month failed to inspire. Won a bumper on heavy but best form on good to soft or good.

Brings some excellent point-to-point form to the table and would probably be unbeaten in all eights such starts had he not unseated when well clear in his only defeat at Alnwick in January. Appreciates cut in the ground and looks a leading player here.

Won a Naas maiden hurdle four years ago (2m3f, yielding), but unable to repeat that over hurdles, fences or in point-to-points. Some of his form in Ireland from this time last year entitles him to plenty of respect in this field, though would have to have seen more recent positives.
Wide margin point-to-point winner last April (3m5f, soft) though unable to get back to that level in three starts during current campaign. Has the profile of a spring horse, so perhaps we will see more today. Cheek pieces worn on all last six starts in point-to-points.

0-21 under rules and broke his point-to-point maiden at the ninth attempt last spring when recording back-to-back wins on good to soft and good going. Acts on soft, though probably has a fair bit to find to trouble one or two of these.

Usually held up and has run well to make the frame in both previous tries in this sphere, including when runner-up in this event last year. Comes here in good form after winning a point-to-point last time (soft) and likely to go very well with her allowance to help.

Forecasts

Knocklong (6/4), Flash Garden (2/1), Comedinewithme (7/2), Peter From Paris (16/1), Shannon Silver (28/1), Stagecoach Jasper (40/1), Hurraboru (40/1), I'm Laura (100/1)

Verdict

A few in with claims here and an eye on the market is advised. Flash Garden arrives in good form, while Peter From Paris would probably be the one to beat if we knew he was able to run up to his best. KNOCKLONG has been virtually bombproof in point-to-points and with conditions forecast to suit he can maintain his excellent form from that sphere. Comedinewithme could make a race of it.
  1. Knocklong
  2. Comedinewithme
  3. Peter From Paris
