Consistent but has risen in the weights without winning as a result. Had an obvious chance last time out but again faded near the finish - an effort which underlined his frailties. However, this is a weak race and he has a sound chance of ridding himself of the maiden tag once more; but he would never be one to rely upon too heavily in a finish.

Comes here on the back of a disappointing effort over jumps at Newcastle, but wasn't persevered with once his chance had obviously slipped away. His shrewd trainer has been back amongst the winners lately and, given that he goes well at this course and is back on a winning mark, this fellow is one to bear in mind if the first-time headgear can spark his interest at this level.

Not disgraced over this trip last time out but has yet to win beyond 10f. Interesting so see how she goes here but will also be one to bear in mind if she goes on to fulfil any of her other entries later on in the week.

Generally in good form of late and, considering the form of his latest start was given a boost the other day; there is every reason to expect another solid attempt. He is versatile regarding the trip but it may be worth noting the reaction of the betting market before getting involved.

Makes his handicap debut at a very realistic level and stands out as a future prospect in a race of this nature. His latest start has already produced four subsequent winners (two over hurdles), which bodes well for this level; represents a shrewd operation and is one to keep on the right side for the time being.

Failed to make an impact for William Haggas and hasn't really boosted her profile for her new yard. This trip may open up a new area of challenge for her but she does need to banish the memory of a poor effort last time out.

A long-standing maiden but has made the frame on turf on four separate occasions. However, he failed to impress in first-time cheekpieces on his debut for a new yard last time out and has a lot to prove from 4lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Sattelac (11/4), Bridey's Lettuce (7/2), Tasty Ginger (7/2), Deep Resolve (5/1), Brahma (11/2), Ramblow (20/1), Gamesters Lad (33/1)

Verdict

Handicap debutante BRAHMA may worth a small investment to shine at this level. The selection looks a likely type for a race like this and appears to have more in the locker than Tasty Ginger, despite him having adapted well since arriving on these shores from Ireland. Bridleys Lettuce is consistent but has also been frustrating to follow of late. However, he has still shown enough to suggest he can pick up a race somewhere along the line and is another to bear in mind if the market puts him in a positive light.
  1. Brahma
  2. Tasty Ginger
  3. Bridey's Lettuce
