Has won over C&D but on a fairly long losing run although often travels well in his races without finding much off the bridle. Last two efforts have been modest but is now ridden by a top rider for the first time in his career.

Course winner with two wins coming over 6f, the last off a 2lb lower mark. Overall an inconsistent sort and whilst he ran well last time, he isn't sure to repeat that run.

A record of 0/25 doesn't really inspire and had plenty of chances off similar marks of late. Ran one of his better races in a C&D maiden last time out but that wasn't a strong affair and more required back into handicaps.

Dual C&D winner who has won off higher marks in the past but has underperformed in his last four runs over C&D. Would need to recapture his form to take a hand.

Has shown some good form here over 5f and won on three occasions last year once on the AW. Not disgraced last time out at Southwell on his initial try on the Fibresand and better judged on his penultimate run over C&D when he finished a creditable third.

C&D winner three starts ago off a 3lb lower mark and has run well in both subsequent starts at Kempton Park and Wolverhampton (5f both times). Well drawn here and should be able to get a good position.

Blinkers go on for the first time in a bid to see him return to the form that saw him win twice over C&D both times off higher marks.

Willow Spring24

Has run all her best races at 5f with both wins coming on turf at Yarmouth off basement marks. Showed something like her best on her penultimate run over C&D but failed to back that run up last time out.

Inconsistent sort who only is 0/22 on the AW and 0/7 at this course and showed very little last time out.

Forecasts

Fabulous Flyer (5/2), Frank The Barber (7/2), Red Flute (11/2), Roy's Legacy (13/2), Deer Song (7/1), The Wee Chief (12/1), Ask The Guru (14/1), Willow Spring (16/1), Give Us A Belle (25/1), Molly Jones (40/1)

Verdict

A modest start to the card and while a few of these look capable at this level, most of them have questions to answer and FABULOUS FLYER looks to hold the most solid chance based on her good recent form. Frank The Barber has to be of interest with Adam Kirby taking the ride for the first time with Roy’s Legacy and Willow Spring capable of a bold show on their best form.
  1. Fabulous Flyer
  2. Frank The Barber
  3. Roy's Legacy
