Reliable AW performer who had her big day on AW Championships Finals Day last season when taking the 7f Fillies and Mares Conditions Stakes by 2¼L from Bint Dandy. Runner up to Ashadian in a Fast Track Qualifier at Chelmsford last month, the chief concern would be her below par effort (12 of 13) on her sole visit to this track in January.
Massively inconvenienced by a tardy start last month at Kempton, she'd been in good form at Lingfield prior to Christmas, winning a Class 3 handicap at the Surrey venue in late November by 1¼L, and if factoring in her riders claim, she's effectively 1lb lower today.
Two time winner on the AW in France, and attracted market support when eighth of 13 on her UK debut at Kempton in February, and looks capable of more at this stiffer track.
In good form during August 2016 winning on the Chelmsford Polytrack (1m) and at Epsom (7f) for previous trainer Ivan Furtdao, but only seventh of eleven when last seen four months ago on her stable debut. Significant jockey booking.
Returned fresh from a short break to comfortably take a Class 5 fillies handicap at Wolverhampton in January (with subsequent dual winner Veena fourth), but only sixth at this track in a stronger race from a 6lb higher mark last month to Free Code (runs at 2.10pm), and needs to produce a career best to score.
Southwell regular who is probably most effective over a mile, but has been running fairly consistently from this sort of mark all winter (including at this track) without winning and on balance needs to do more to trouble the judge.
Returned from a break when third over a mile at Lingfield last month, and entitled to improve for that run having been absent since September 2016. Seems to hold her form whatever the surface (Brighton winner in July 2016), so no reason as to why she'll not run well on her Newcastle AW debut having proved well suited by Tapeta at Wolverhampton in the past.
Forecasts
Bargain Buy (11/4), Ibazz (4/1), Bint Arcano (9/2), Volunteer Point (9/2), Pacolita (8/1), Dusky Dawn (9/1), Nouvelli Dancer (20/1)
A competitive fillies handicap in which Volunteer Point is the headline horse on the strength of her AW Championships Finals Day success in 2016, and she should go close if reproducing her recent Chelmsford effort. However, she has a few questions to answer at this track and can be taken on with BARGAIN BUY, whose riders claim brings her back down below her last winning mark with her most recent start at Kempton best forgotten. Of the remainder, Ibazz could well step forward for Archie Watson, whilst Pacollta looks a versatile sort.
