Not won since 2014 and losing run stands at 25 but promising comeback run last time puts him in with a shout here and he's very well-handicapped on old form. Market support would be significant.
Three time course winner who bounced back to form last time out. However, that came in an apprentice race and some of his market rivals fell in behind so 7lb rise for that win may be harsh and looks opposable back in a race that isn't restricted to apprentices.
Returned from a break to score last time out at 33/1 but wide draw to contend with this time and he needs to prove he can put back-to-back performances together.
Got her act togther of late but failed in a hat-trick bid last time and step up in trip may not be what she needs; suspicion is that the handicapper has caught up with her.
Two-time course winner but now won since 2015 and only minor signs of a revival on last recent starts and can be tardy from the gate. Opposable in a competitive heat.
Very poor in a seller here recently and not won a handicap since 2015. Still higher than that mark so hard to fancy from a tough draw.
Recorded back-to-back victories at the start of this AW season but never got involved on recent comeback run. No doubt he's better than that and yard arrive in good form so should resume his progress here.
Only minor promise on handicap debut and maiden form was nothing to write home about. Likely to need more relief from the handicapper.
Finally hit some form at Southwell two starts back and respectable third at the same course since. Seems to enjoy that Fibresand surface though and may struggle back on Tapeta.
Often well-backed but not won since 2015. Dropped a further 2lb in the handicap but needs everything to fall right and boasts an unattractive strike-rate from a betting perspective.
Only minor promise in three maiden efforts and trainer has a poor record at this course but the filly is likely to improve at some stage and handicapper has given her a chance. Any market support would be interesting.
Just one win from 26 starts but has been running consistently well for this yard despite failing to get his head in front. Probably a more attractive proposition when racing back on turf.
Forecasts
Captain Bob (3/1), Athletic (4/1), Dark Forest (7/1), Coquine (8/1), Wink Oliver (9/1), Tavener (14/1), Top Offer (14/1), Air Of York (14/1), Murdanova (16/1), Dark Confidant (18/1), Ducissa (20/1), Magic Moments (20/1)
It may be worth taking a chance on CAPTAIN BOB who is very well-handicapped on old form and hinted that he retains ability on a recent comeback run. Dark Confidant was in good form at the end of last year and he's better than his recent comeback run would suggest while any market support for Magic Moments may prove significant.
1. Captain Bob
2. Dark Confidant
3. Magic Moments
