Winner off a 4lb lower mark on his penultimate outing over fences at Sandown earlier this month but disappointed when pulled up at Wincanton last week. Worth forgiving that poor effort however and has his Sandown pilot back in the saddle here.
Winner of two graded events in Ireland in 2014 and run well in two outings for his current stable at Sandown so far. Finished behind today's rival Grey Gold last time out and off the same mark here he is likely to run well for the yard who took this in 2016.
Pulled up in a valuable handicap on his latest run over 2m5f at Cheltenham in December. Was returning from a near 23 month absence when finishing fourth at the same track the time before and interesting to see how he fares off a mark 20lb lower than for his most recent handicap run.
Finished behind two of today's rivals when fourth at Sandown earlier this month but ran better than the bare result suggests. Better judged on his second to a useful rival over the same C&D on his previous start and an interesting contender for a yard with a 25% strike rate (6/24) in recent weeks.
Well beaten behind Grey Gold at Sandown earlier this month but back to his last winning mark following a 2lb drop for that effort. Had been well beaten the time before that at Aintree and interesting to see if first time cheekpieces spark a revival here.
Well beaten in four outings since finishing runner-up in a four runner contest at Taunton last April. Now rated 4lb lower than when registering a dominant all the way success at Wetherby on soft ground nearly 13 months ago and of interest here with likely going to suit.
Winner at Uttoxeter and Newton Abbot earlier in the season and has been given a break since finishing fourth at Ludlow in October. Two performances on the forecast soft ground have been poor however and any drying of the ground is likely to aid his cause.
Forecasts
Module (5/2), Bright New Dawn (9/2), Grey Gold (9/2), Pearls Legend (13/2), Sew On Target (7/1), Bold Henry (8/1), Canicallyouback (9/1)
This stiffer test of stamina looks likely to suit BRIGHT NEW DAWN more than the trip over he was beaten by Grey Gold when contesting a handicap chase at Sandown earlier this month. The selections trainer took this event last year and he's run well in two starts so far for the yard and looks a classy recruit for them from a leading Irish stable. Third place can go the way of Bold Henry who was fourth in the above race and who's trainers horses are going well at present.
1. Bright New Dawn
2. Grey Gold
3. Bold Henry
