Flat form and pedigree suggest soft ground should bring about some improvement. Market support on more than one previous occasion could mean he is better than we have seen so far. Shoulders a big weight and having looked far from enthused with his new career, he may not be one to take a short price about.
One-paced maiden who produced her best effort to date over this C&D last month. This stiff track may bring out the best in her and she should be thereabouts again.
Sprang a 40/1 surprise at Newton Abbot in 2015. Has not shown much since and will probably need the run.
Won an equally poor race this time last year. Offered some encouragement in better grade last time and not without a chance here.
On a long losing run but has offered new yard some encouragement with steady improvement over his last three starts whilst dropping down the weights.
Win record of 2-45 tells its own story. Entitled to come on for his latest run but others look more likely.
Produced a career best at Wincanton last April. Lenient treatment from the handicapper and various headgear has failed to produce a similar level of performance since.
Has fewer question marks than some in this and has room to improve. She is worth a check in the market with the jockey booking taking the eye for what should be her easiest task to date.
Soundly beaten in all starts under rules and this stiff track may ask more questions about his stamina on ground as testing as this.
Has performed to a modest level on the Flat and in each run over hurdles. Needs to step up considerably.
Showed some ability in bumpers in 2014 but has looked moderate more recently. Likely to need this first run after a long absence.
Produced his best effort when gambled on last time. He was produced travelling well but weakened in the closing stages to finish third. Drop in trip looks a wise move and he could recover those losses against equally weak opposition.
Forecasts
Goonjim (10/3), Tobacco Road (4/1), Blue April (7/1), Chance Taken (8/1), Georgieshore (9/1), Baccalaureate (11/1), Charlie Parker (11/1), Daytime Ahead (14/1), Etheridge Annie (16/1), Touch Screen (20/1), Old Magic (22/1), Richardofdoccombe (25/1)
This is a race that will not take much winning and a chance is taken with GEORGIESHORE who came good around this time last season in similar grade. He ran well enough in better company last time to suggest he is approaching his peak and he can account for Goonjim who ran well at Bangor last time when failing to land a gamble. He takes a drop in trip here which will help his bid to recover losses. Chance Taken is one paced but this track has brought the best out of her in the past and she should be involved again.
1. Georgieshore
2. Goonjim
3. Chance Taken
