3/1
The most experienced runner in the field and sets the standard here on the evidence of soft ground defeats of Alan King's useful Coeur De Lion at Sandown last month, before following up at Warwick. Forecast conditions should hold no fears and if anything finishes ahead of him then it should be going close to winning.

Made a good impression when staying on well to score at Newbury (2m, good to soft) on New Year's Eve, though appeared to race with the choke out when last of four as the odds-on favourite back there last month. Tongue strap left off today and cheekpieces in which he won on the Flat are back on. Remains of interest.
£43,000 purchase who stays up to 1m4f on the Flat (rated 84) and created a big impression when hosing up by a wide margin at Wetherby (good to soft) in what was admittedly a weak maiden hurdle last month. Very much a potential improver and connections clearly think a fair bit of him to be sending him for this traditionally competitive event.
Sole start to date was at Enghien last May when he ran well to finish runner-up by two and a half lengths to a horse who went on to land a Grade Two in the autumn. Another potential improver who receives weight from the previous winners and is entitled to be thereabouts with the yard's runners going pretty well.

Both wins were on heavy going in France on the Flat at trips of 1m2f and a mile. Has put in a couple of decent efforts to be runner-up at both Newbury and Carlisle since joining current stable but will need to improve to win this.

Forecasts

Most Celebrated (1/1), Don Bersy (3/1), Admiral Barratry (4/1), Zalvados (12/1), Final Choice (12/1)

Verdict

Another decent Victor Ludorum with most of the runners having some sort of claim and a chance is taken on ADMIRAL BARRATRY in receipt of weight. Nick Williams has been patient with the gelded son of Soldier Of Fortune, giving him nine months between his first two runs, while seeing the form of his debut work out well. Provided he is straight enough he could go very close. Don Bersy sets a decent standard and should pick up some prize money, while Most Celebrated romped home at Wetherby and is the other most likely improver in this. 1. Admiral Barratry 2. Most Celebrated 3. Don Bersy
