Versatile sort and tough to pinpoint exactly what his favoured conditions are. All AW starts have been on the fibresand at Southwell so he may go close if he takes to this tapeta surface.
Zero from five on the AW and he gives the impression this trip stretches him, especially on the stiff natured track at Newcastle last time. Jockey in good form of late.
Official rating has dropped down into the sixties for the first time in his career but with good reason and he needs to prove he's not too old for this game after a few disappointing efforts. Tends to run okay fresh so this may be the time to catch him.
Not scored on the AW since 2015 but been unlucky not to get his head in front lately and he's got a respectable record around here. Trainer and Jockey also have a good strike rate when teaming up (15.29%) so certainly one for the shortlist baring in mind he comes off joint-best at the weights.
Been disappointing in three AW starts and long losing run now stretches to 16. Visor retained and jockey has a good record around here (21.21%) but the gelding needs to show he has the same appetite for racing he once had.
Won a weak event at Bath over the summer but been in poor form since and doesn't look a completely straight-forward type. Refused to settle last time so step up in trip is a concern and never tried this far before.
Seven-time winner on the Flat including an effort over C&D but very disappointing in eight runs for this yard and no surprise to see him down in this company.
Reeled off a hat-trick on the AW back in 2014 but hard to imagane at that point he wouldn't win a race in three years since. Some of his better efforts have come around here including a recent second over a furlong further; drop back in trip should be no issue.
Sole C&D win came in a seller but does run well around here as a rule. Jockey booking is a positive and recent third over C&D is a positive but has a fair bit on at the weights with a few of these.
Forecasts
Malaysian Boleh (9/4), Dodgy Bob (9/2), Top Offer (6/1), Mime Dance (13/2), Pool House (17/2), Call Out Loud (9/1), Light From Mars (11/1), Oeil De Tigre (20/1), Order Of Service (33/1)
MALAYSIAN BOLEH looks like a solid option for the Brian Ellison/Ben Curtis combination. He's finished second on his last two starts and it would be no surprise to see him go one better in a weaker race. Pool House hasn't won since 2014 and his recent second in a seller here was a respectable effort. Call Out Loud isn't the easiest to predict but there's a chance he could improve if he gets on with this surface on tapeta debut.
1. Malaysian Boleh
2. Pool House
3. Call Out Loud
