Outran his odds to finish an impressive second at Southwell last time. when dropped down in trip on third run for her new trainer. Claims if transferring that for onto the Polytrack.
Wasn't totally disgraced in three starts before a break since November 2015. Has that absence to overcome today, and even if it proves not to be a problem, improvement will be needed to be involved here.
Close fourth at Chelmsford last time was more like it after a series of disappointing efforts but hasn't won a race in 17 attempts since September 2015. Others look likelier types in this contest.
Hat-trick seeker after beating Assertive Agent by a short head at Chelmsford last time. This looks a slightly easier assignment with cheekpieces back on over a trip she's proven over, and she should be involved in the finish once again.
C&D winner two starts ago who almost followed up when narrowly beaten by Beau Mistral at Chelmsford last time. Looks to be well handicapped on the same mark and should prove competitive again.
Serial placer who has finished second or third in over half his races without ever winning. Returns after a short break on a similar handicap mark and potentially has place claims again, though it is concerning that his course form reads 558.
Three time winner on the turf who has struggled since moving to her current trainer and being campaigned on the all weather. Has a good chance if returning to the best of her turf form, but that doesn't seem likely.
Narrow 50/1 winner of a weak race at Southwell two starts ago, but that looks to be an anomaly, especially given the unique nature of that course. Has something to prove back on her first start on the Polytrack among some better looking horses.
Forecasts
Spiraea (2/1), Assertive Agent (3/1), Beau Mistral (5/1), Penny Dreadful (15/2), Flowing Clarets (8/1), Lily Ash (12/1), Clever Divya (16/1), Royal Rettie (25/1)
Old rivals in Beau Mistral and ASSERTIVE AGENT re-oppose each other once again here after the first named won the previous two meetings, back in August at Brighton and then at Chelmsford last month. However, at a course she clearly enjoys, preference is for the latter, especially given how narrow the margin of victory was on both of those occasions. Perhaps Spirae can fill the places, though that will require her to transfer her recent good form at Southwell onto the Polytrack.
1. Assertive Agent
2. Beau Mistral
3. Spiraea
