Has risen steeply in the weights after racking up three bloodless wins. He may not have stopped improving but it is worth bearing in mind that he is now two stone higher in the rating than when his winning run started. All that said, he has a very willing attitude and can be relied upon to give his all.
Has looked a little one-paced on in couple of runs since leaving point-to-points behind; he did win over 3 miles in the amateur ranks so a step up in distance is likely to be on his agenda.
Likes to make the running but has a tendency to burn himself out and opposable on the balance of recent form.
Lightly raced for his age but has a long absence to overcome and his profile doesn't really suggest he is always a horse to catch when fresh.
On a handy mark in comparison to the best of his form. However, it has been a while since he raced with any real zest, so cannot be backed with anything more than tepid confidence. Capable of running into a place of he strides out well though.
Nothing in his recent form suggests his luck is about to change. Very difficult to make a case for.
Won a poor race from 1lb out of the handicap at this course back in December. Races from just a 3lb higher mark but still has a little to prove in terms of consistency.
Continually seems to race from out the handicap and has pretty poor form figures as a result. Easy to overlook once more.
His ability to see out the trip is very questionable and he is readily opposed despite having the services of a 10lb claimer off bottom weight.
Forecasts
Gardiners Hill (5/4), Miss Oscarose (9/4), Brice Canyon (5/1), La Paimpolaise (10/1), Clonusker (14/1), Ma'ire Rua (25/1), Finnegan's Garden (33/1), Citadel (33/1), Bonnie Major (100/1)
This presents GARDINERS HILL with a live chance of landing his four-timer. A third of the field are out of the weights, and only Miss Oscarose and La Paimpolaise have shown anything like enthusiasm in their recent outings.. The former won last time out but still has a stiff test on the terms of the race. Clonusker is the best of the rest.
1. Gardiners Hill
2. La Paimpolaise
3. Miss Oscarose
