Has shown some useful form over fences especially when winning the Red Rum Chase at Aintree last year off a mark of 133. Failed to fire to a certain extent in three races since at Aintree and Doncaster (the last twice) off higher marks and has frankly looked hard work. Now back down to his last winning mark and stepped up in trip in a bid to find some of his old spark.

Not won since scoring at Kibeggan in September 2014 in a beginners chase on his first start over fences for his former yard (Noel Meade). Has produced some useful performances for this yard without winning but has looked out of sorts this year although highly tried on last two starts. The handicapper is starting to give him a chance though and he drops to his lowest GB mark today.

Hard to fault his efforts over fences so far with two wins and two second from four starts and this point-to-point winner has always looked as though he was going to be better in this sphere. Produced his best performance last time out when winning at Doncaster, making all and jumping boldly under a typically positive ride from Danny Cook; a running style that should suit this course ideally. Raised 11lb for his latest win but has the potential to improve further yet.

Showed some useful form over hurdles despite only having one win to show for his efforts in a Warwick novice hurdle on his second start. Switched to chasing this season he appears to be slowly getting the hang of things with his best performance coming last time out when finishing fourth to Bells 'N' Banjos at Leicester despite not looking totally straightforward.

Progressive young chaser this season and finally put everything together when rattling off a hat-trick from November to January at Sedgefield, Catterick (over this trip) and Ayr rising from a mark of 99 to 113 for the Ayr win. Was the market leader for all those wins and was again made favourite when falling going for a four-timer at Ayr over 3m3f last time out. That fall was uncharacteristic as he's usually a sound jumping sort and off the same mark here should make a bold bid to get back on track.

Capable over fences but only one win to show for his efforts over fences although that did come over C&D. Made a reasonable start to the season with a good third over a marathon trip at Sedgefield but has failed to fire in a couple of starts since. Ran poorly in the North Yorkshire National last time out when wearing a visor instead of his usual blinkers and needs to bounce back to form here over a shorter trip.

Went through a purple patch in the 2014/15 season culminating in a win in an Ayr Listed Chase off a mark of 124. Not won since then and has to a certain extent struggled off higher marks including his last three runs at Ayr and finished last there on his latest start. Most of his best form has come on better ground than this and even off a sliding mark he has work to do here with a couple of progressive types.

Forecasts

I Just Know (13/8), Hedley Lamarr (4/1), Jac The Legend (9/2), Nortonthorpelegend (5/1), Katachenko (12/1), Silver Tassie (16/1), Presenting Junior (16/1)

Verdict

This is likely to rest between the two progressive chasers in the field in I JUST KNOW and Nortonthorpelegend, with the former given the verdict as his style of racing should be ideally suited by this track. Danny Cook knows how to ride this track and it could well see him dictate from the front and although Nortonthorpelegend is essentially a safe jumper he did fall last time out. Both Katachenko and Silver Tassie on their old form would be capable of getting involved but the former in particular has shown very little spark this year although he is back on his last winning mark.. Hedley Lamarr isn’t the most straightforward but he does have some potential for the future and only has had three chase runs so far. 1. I Just Know 2. Nortonthorpelegend 3. Hedley Lamarr
