Modest £5,000 purchase as a yearling who failed to sell as a three-years-old. Not an obvious jumping pedigree and yard does better at other tracks with its bumper runners, so unless there are strong market vibes, probably better to look elsewhere.
Debutant who won a point-to-point last time and has plenty of stamina in the bloodlines. Yard's first bumper runner here and another for whom a market check is advised.
Cost €62,000 as a yearling and represents a yard that has a pretty good strike rate from relatively few bumper runners. Interesting newcomer.
Ran with plenty of credit when making the frame on debut at Chepstow (soft) in December. Bred to go well over much further, but may well be able to build on that first effort this time and take a closer hand, especially with his rider's claim to assist.
Point-to-point runner-up who was doing all his best work towards the business end on his bumper debut at Newbury last month. Yard does really well in these sort of contests and likely that he can make a significant step up on that today.
Reasonable debut effort at Huntingdon and then well beaten in a Listed Cheltenham contest on New Year's Day. Can't rule out improvement and a market check is advised.
Good jumps pedigree and cost €23,000 last year. Makes debut here for a yard in good form and with a 20% strike rate in this sphere in the past five seasons, so has to be respected with the age allowance.
Thrashed in both bumpers so far and hard to fancy on that evidence, with yard not in red hot form.
Forecasts
Hands Of Stone (9/4), Storm Warning (5/2), Diamond Reggie (4/1), Atlantic Grey (9/2), Amerton Lane (16/1), Gaelic Magnum (18/1), Clondaw Rigger (22/1), Samson's Reach (100/1)
Not a race to be dogmatic about and it may be best to side with STORM WARNING in the hope that he can build on his debut effort, while Diamond Reggie could go well on debut. The same applies to both Gaelic Magnum and Hands Of Stone and a market check is strongly advised.
1. Storm Warning
2. Diamond Reggie
3. Gaelic Magnum
