Won a bumper in his native France before making a winning debut at Newcastle beating subsequent multiple winner Nietzsche. Below form up in grade on sole start since at Cheltenham although that form looks strong in the light of events since and must have a solid chance here eased again in grade.
The two starts in bumpers were modest but sprang a 25/1 surprise on hurdling debut at Naas showing improved form. Made most of the running at Naas and held on well although this looks tougher with a penalty to carry.
Just one start in bumpers which looks to be modest form before showing a little more on his first start over hurdles. Looks more of a long term prospect (jumps bred) and will be better over further.
Two starts over hurdles so far and showed ability on both of them with the better effort coming on his debut in a Wetherby juvenile. Shaped well enough though last time out at Bangor (jumped right) and may be better on a right-handed track here and looks to have something to work on possibly better once going handicapping.
Makes his hurdles debut here having won a maiden on the Flat in France when trained by Andre Fabre on heavy going over 1m2f. Yard have a modest strike-rate with their hurdlers.
Won as a three-year-old on the Flat in France and showed some useful form. Well-fancied for hurdling debut at Wetherby but tailed-off and well beaten when unseating his rider at the last although was on the back foot for much of the race after being hampered early on.
Rated 68 on the Flat although only won once in a Leicester seller over a mile. Pulled-up on hurdles debut at Warwick when his saddle slipped although he was far too keen and will need to settle better to last out the trip over hurdles.
Won twice from five starts on the Flat in France both over 1m4f on ground with some give. Had just the one run over hurdles for his new connections and looked as though she needed the run at Ludlow although she looked far from straightforward.
Forecasts
Domperignon Du Lys (1/4), I See You Well (7/2), Getback In Paris (10/1), Foresee (16/1), Methag (20/1), Cry Wolf (20/1), Balgemmois (50/1), Port Paradise (50/1)
There may be a couple in here that would be interesting going handicapping in the future but connections may well have bigger plans for DOMPERIGNON DU LYS. HE was a little underwhelming at Cheltenham last time out but that was in a better grade than this and it’s hard to crab his Newcastle run. I See You Well looks a danger if he can repeat that Naas run while it’s not hard to see Getback In Paris doing better than his debut effort this time around, he was after all hampered early in the race last time out and that appeared to get him out of his rhythm. Cry Wolf may be one who could run better than his odds especially going right-handed which will suit him far better.
1. Domperignon Du Lys
2. I See You Well
3. Getback In Paris
